Hello, I am a newbe and I want to know, which minor country I can select for some (big) conquest. I tried Brazil, but I could not even conquer Argentina. I saw some rumors about World Conquest with countries like Switzerland or Communist China. How is this possible?
I would be very happy if someone could help me.

Thank you.

You may want to give Australia a go, supposedly they got a good bit of strength for their size, and already allied with the Brits will probably get a good boost from tech sharing.

Keep in mind that those rumors mostly come from the time (earlier patches) where the game wasnt balanced has much and the manpower was too high for most countries.

The strongest minors are probably Autsralia, Canada and Brazil but keep in mind that democracies suffer dissent penalties when they declare war. So your better off with a Paternal Autocrat countrie like Brazil.

Other good and strong minors that come too mind now are Turkey and Sweden (overpowered). But a world conquest is pretty much out of the question with the recent patches.

Play as Estonia!

But seriously, you can make good territorial gains as a minor if you play right.
Don't attack right off the bat, build up your forces first- I suspect that may be why you lost against Argentina.

Also, be wary of Spheres of Influence. It's not too hard to get a list of nations that aren't in anyone's sphere. Haiti, China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Sinkaing, Spain, and several others are IIRC free to attack. If you desire to attack a nation that is in a sphere, however, save and reload right before you declare war, so the SoI events are started over (they only check once a few days.) If you get in a war with Italy, UK, Germany, or the USSR that way, its best to start over.

If you wish to invade a country that only has one Nation's Sphere on it, you probably should ally with the nation first.

If the USA declares war on you via SoI, if their WE level is low, you're usually safe. You can make peace with them after you annex whatever nation you attacked. Just don't send any ships out wandering too far, the US has a killer navy. And if the US lands an invasion force, its probably best to Reload.

Communist China. Once you "ally" with Nationalist China, when you reclaim land that Japan has taken, you get that land instead of Nationalist China getting it back which can make you powerful quickly. Also you can annex Sinkiang and Tibet.

Sweden and Finland are good countries, Turkey and Republican Spain are also good countries to play. Poland is good, but only if you can avoid German attacks of '39.

Yes Brasil is good but you have to first build infrastructure. Once you ally with Allied Forces you get better tech. If you wait till your army is modern you can take over. Or once you have a big ass army! :eek:o
