Which kind of republic is closest to the old roman one?

I want to rebuild Rome with Byzantium, and I want it to be a republic of the same kind Rome was before it became an empire. So which one of the game's republics models this the best?

I would go for Noble Republic, as the consuls were from certain families.

If you ignore the election cicle (every year in the roman republic) then yes, the noble republic is the best pick.
There was a considerable distinction between the political rights of Patricians and Plebeians.
