Ehhh...? Spoiler is kind of nice but on the whole this was a downgrade in functionality, layout, and just general aesthetics. It even performs a bit worse and isn't as accessible on hand helds...
Yes, but it's a functionality we were really trying to get over at the other spot. Especially on the Death From Above subforum. I would have liked it for my campaign logs too, to collapse my repair roll records so people didn't need to scroll past.
It's the first, most useful thing I've found here other than those things already listed. Formatting without technical workarounds. Browsing some heavily-delete-ridden pages without technical workarounds. It actually loads on my mobile instead of being stuck in a loading loop for 30-45 seconds (not, mind you, without some issues which led to me deciding to swear off reading on my crappy phone, because it's my PHONE and I know it). A rating system better than "I Like This" which permits one to mark something "Helpful", even if it comes with the "Disagree", it is better than other systems I won't reference.
The old forums very steadily had functionalities failing and requiring workarounds, and I ran into way too many just posting fiction or the campaign logs, or trying to format older posts. I literally had four different workarounds within one set of posts on the Bickering Thread, because the page view was busted, quote went and broke when I switched pages on the thread, quoting or tagging someone with an underscore in their name wouldn't work 100% of the time, and formatting was busted.
I kind of consider this a trade up because a lot of this actually works now instead of requiring workarounds. I loved the charm and the theme, I loved some of the things we lost in this move, but overall we haven't broken this place yet and I think Hatchy's trying
