Ehhh...? Spoiler is kind of nice but on the whole this was a downgrade in functionality, layout, and just general aesthetics. It even performs a bit worse and isn't as accessible on hand helds...

Yes, but it's a functionality we were really trying to get over at the other spot. Especially on the Death From Above subforum. I would have liked it for my campaign logs too, to collapse my repair roll records so people didn't need to scroll past.

It's the first, most useful thing I've found here other than those things already listed. Formatting without technical workarounds. Browsing some heavily-delete-ridden pages without technical workarounds. It actually loads on my mobile instead of being stuck in a loading loop for 30-45 seconds (not, mind you, without some issues which led to me deciding to swear off reading on my crappy phone, because it's my PHONE and I know it). A rating system better than "I Like This" which permits one to mark something "Helpful", even if it comes with the "Disagree", it is better than other systems I won't reference.

The old forums very steadily had functionalities failing and requiring workarounds, and I ran into way too many just posting fiction or the campaign logs, or trying to format older posts. I literally had four different workarounds within one set of posts on the Bickering Thread, because the page view was busted, quote went and broke when I switched pages on the thread, quoting or tagging someone with an underscore in their name wouldn't work 100% of the time, and formatting was busted.

I kind of consider this a trade up because a lot of this actually works now instead of requiring workarounds. I loved the charm and the theme, I loved some of the things we lost in this move, but overall we haven't broken this place yet and I think Hatchy's trying ;)

Hatchy will do what Hatchy's gotta do. Although I have no idea who is who anymore and that's pretty depressing. There has absolutely zero individuality on this and I never realized how often I rely on peoples profile picture... Its such an identity killer just so Paradox can sell what, $6 avatar packs? Bah...

Her OC pictures were one of the best bits of our forum.

Re #1 - I doubt that, really. But I don't know for sure.

Re #2 - Well of course they were.

Paradox has never had uploadable avatars in the time I’ve been here. All of the avatars are tied to game purchases, and they always have been. They’ve never sold avatar packs that I’ve heard of.

Expansions and deluxe versions come with "Special" avatars. Its a money making scheme, just another incentive to get people to buy things unfortunately.

Two things really.

The ability to multi-quote and the "quote" function in general.

It's easier to prune out what you want for the person your quoting without having to drag out a HTML for Dummies book/guide.

So Paradox built a time machine and went back in time before they had ever made a DLC and implemented this avatar policy so that they could eventually make money off of selling DLCs so people would buy them for the avatars?

I'm really thrilled about the quote feature actually letting you go to the post being quoted. Finally!
Go to the post being quoted?

Here let me try that...

EDIT: WOOT, WOOT! So that is what the little upward arrow is for... yeah, it seems kinda obvious now. DOH!!

When you got them all on follow you have to open "Your News Feed"

What my "DevTracker" Looks this morning (Hello from Germany!):View attachment 342901

EDIT:
I would like an Option to toggle what i can see on the feed. Posted/Replied would be enough.
To see every Rating someone gives feels quiet creepy o_O

And of course the obligatory Color Scheme Options and Custom Avatars :D

Beyond that i really start to like the new Forums.

@HurricaneSG Thank you very much! That helped a lot Sir!

Nobody buys a game just to get forum avatars. They are a reward, just like any other you get for buying a game/expansion these days. for example I bought a game on gog recently that came with wallpapers and soundtrack. At no point did either of these sway my decision to buy the game, I did so because I wanted the game. If you had to pay extra to get a special "avatar" edition, then that would be different of course.

I haven't spent much time here since the move. So I'm still getting a feel for the place.

Overall, I appreciate that it's a more full featured BBS style forum on the style of phpBBS. The old forum was a but klunky from my perspective.
