which game do you hype more? stellaris or hoi4?

Don't know:
- We know what we will get with HOI4, we have seen alot of it and it will probably play out in similar fashion to the older HOI. It will probably be very polished on release but it will probably not hold many surprises. Basically an improved HOI game.
- Stellaris is something new for paradox, we don't really know if it will be a masterpiece or just a rough diamond then it is released.

Anyhow, I am following both, and will definitely buy both this year.
It better be this year too. Glares at Johan and Podcat. If not, I will fly to Stockholm and wait for them in their lobby. Beer or fists, HOI IV will be coming out this year even if the damn thing is missing half it's code, and the other half doesn't work!- 3
HoI4 by a long shot because Stellaris doesnt seem that different to most other space 4x games Ive played and it will have to compete with Endless Space II which will be a tall order.
I have been interested in playing a good WW2 strategy game since I first played HoI2 a bit (not much) and HoI3 really didnt do it for me. I do like Making History The Great War but thats WW1. So I am most interested to see what HoI4 is like.

The Stellaris team, since announcement, have been putting out DDs weekly. This makes me suspect that Stellaris' development timeline is shorter than HoI4, which in contrast HoI4 only had monthly DDs for a long time. For a project with the scope of Stellaris I would imagine that development would take as long as a main franchise game, so perhaps Stellaris has been in the secret, unannounced stage of development for much longer than HoI4 was.

Yes, HOI IV was the last game they will announce before approved alpha, or was it beta? I think it was alpha. They've faced a lot of flak on the boards not only for announcing HOI IV too early, but they also messed up with the Norse RPG thing they were working on before deciding to cancel it. I was looking forward to PDS first RPG.
I will buy both, but much more hyped for HOI IV. I don't normally get as excited for games as I am for HOI IV, not sure why .

They both look really good. But hoi4 hands down. I can't wait to get my UK-Germany invasion of France ready.

Hoi4 mostly because there are fewer good ww2 grand strategy games but Stellaris also looks quite cool. I like the idea that you only directly control a few planets as one of the worst part of 4x games is massive amounts of colony micromanagement end game.

I'm way more excited about HOIIV though. Stellaris is very promising, but seeing the streams from HOIIV gets me very excited about playing it.

Personally I'm more hyped for HOI4, but the fact that the Stellaris forums aren't clogged up with posts about release dates and "what if?" posts most of which come from the same poster does make them a better place to hang out . . .

But Hoi4 looks awesome already; like they're taking Grand Strategy and their work to another level.
Plus the WW2 setting is way more immersive. When I get into a good historical strategy game I read around it, and watch themed movies that complement the experience. Ha, already started reading Beevor's 'Battle for Spain'; and have ordered 'Wages of Destruction' and Heinz Schroter's first hand account of the Stalingrad Cauldron.
I will buy Stellaris, and it looks like shaping up to be a good game.

Initially I had high hopes and espectations for HoI 4, but now after the constant delays, and design changes, I'm more interested in Stellaris. Might give up on HoI.

I buy all PDS games so I'm not that bothered. HOI2/3 have a special place in my gaming history so I favour HOI4 more, but who knows Stellaris might blow my socks off.
My main interest has always been shared between HoI and EU. So it's safe to say that I'm more hyped for HoI, but if Stellaris turns out to come first... Well I'll be contempt in getting my fix that way.
