Hi! I'm a big fan of Europa Universalis III, but I'd like to try something new from Paradox.
It seems that the best game is HoI2.

However I'm a bit confused: which collection should I buy?

On gamersgate there is the HoI2 Collection, released in 2009:
http://www.gamersgate.com/DDB-HOI2COMP/hearts-of-iron-2-complete-bundle
This collection contains Hoi2, the expansion Doomsday and the expansion Armageddon

However in this post is mentioned the HOI collection, released in 2007:
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=309376
This collection collection contains HoI1, HoI2, the expansion Doomsday and the Booster pack Armageddon

So these are my 2 questions:

- What's the difference between the "expansion" Armageddon and the "booster pack" Armageddon?

- How is possible that the second collection that contains more material was released 2 years before?

Thank you a lot!

If you want to play HOI2 then get the 2009 Anthology pack and do not bother loading anything other than the Armageddon version, and the patch as well.

I'm with Blackcloud on this. The Anthology sells at amazon for $15-25, depending on where you live, and that is the cheapest you can get it (new and legal).

Any of the versions would do, though. Boosterpack was the initial denomination of Armageddon, as Doomsday was already called an expansion (although it was a standalone). Since Arma was no standalone, it was called a boosterpack to the Doomsday expansion. In essence Doomsday is a re-release of HoI2 and Arma is an expansion - that way the terms are comparable to other games. ;)

And about the different prices: I have seen EU3complete for €10 (new), while the IN expansion alone was still for sale for €19,99 on the same site... ;)
