My vote on the event thing is going to France. Not because they have the most events but since they are pretty evenly spread out with a lot of variation.

Yes I know but that´s not why they get my vote. It´s because they get them spread over all 400 years. Compare with prussia, they get a batch of events in the late game but in the first 200 years things are pretty dead.

Since I never look at dates unprovoked it took until seeing your post about 'currently' playing Timurid scientists to see the age of this geriatric thread.
I am not sure if leaders are classed as events (well, they are given by events), but the Timurids gets a good leader, a strong army and lots of nice core provinces after all the revolts. The leaders name is Babur and the rich provinces can be found in northern India. That's the case when playing EEP. I don't know if this is in vanilla EU2, but I guess so.
