Salic Consanguinity (ie. rule of the strongest) into Open Agnatic so that the default heir for muslim rulers would be their son with the highest martial stat (If none of the sons were landed).

Also, it would be great if the events from the old DVIP mod (and other mods as well)be ported over to CK2. --> for the modders

A bit off-topic:
I also think that muslims should have the gavelkind option as well. I think that is the preferred way of succession by the Seljuk sultans (or generally Turkish rulers)

For the benefit of us newcomers, a short explanation of the "old" system will help. E.g. how was the naval system like in CK1?

There wasnt really any, basically. You chose what troops to transport, it gave you a cost and time period. You payed, waited (played the game as usual while you wait) and when the time come they'd pop up in the province you selected, minus a few numbers who died on the way there. Its been a looong time but I think thats basically it.

As it is, transports feel like oversea helicopters, I can picture my armies in south africa "sir! We need reinforcements, we're being overwhelmed!" "Dont worry sons, reinforcements are being sent from normandy as we speak, they'll be there within the hour." And dont get me started on sniping unaware enemy armies with fast-unloading doomstacks

Sainthood can be modded in, but yeah the pope election system was great. Now we only have the antipope installment thing. I didn't always much like how it randomy stole priests from my court to fill bishop titles though :)

Yeah. I think Paradox took out the features that "arbitrarily" affected the player so that he/she felt more in control. Things like separate consanguinity laws for succession and mega-plagues add an extra bit of randomness/complexity that scares away some players.

Crown Laws and province focus on certain civ groups resulting in different troop constellations, so not everyone had the same amount of troops with the same ratio.

Edit: What I hated: Saving a fortune in money just to wage wars for 1 year. Those soldiers were expensive!

@Grave digger: Funny, it's one of the aspects I miss the absolute most. I loved planning years ahead for a war, and still go broke fighting it.
It was realistic as well.. Now you can lead 30k+ armies in the field for years on end, and never go broke.

I do suspect however that this won't be changed back :(

I dunno about families, but I heard the popes liked having 20 year olds around, if you know what I mean... Only at that point in history, of course, now they don't do stuff like that any more.

---

Back to topic: I won't touch the naval system subject, touchy!! But features regarding how wealthy a province really is (+ how much population it has, which affects how fast troops should really regenerate) and anything else that improves the feeling that you actually rule over land & its people and not "placeholders" I would welcome. Otherwise, CK2 is far better in terms of user experience, so I'll have that any day.
