Britain's the one I'm mad at, and the Queen might force the commonwealth to mobilize and order Canada to provide safe landing areas unless I intervene! Even in the actual War Plan Red documents, Canada only gets invaded because they're in the way between Britain's and America's war, as a part of the Red Empire! What did we Canadians ever do to you to deserve this
oh and I really like the alternative choices as germany, looks like there is quite a bit of replay ability just to try out all the options
Well the Soviets, but only under Trotsky.

What they did to me was be the target of the most fascinating alternate history war of the past century! What did Britain ever do to you?. On the by, unless there's a fair bit of regicide, you're probably looking at a king in HoI4
. I do think the US options are very, very interesting - I just find France a bit more interesting as the US is so strong there's not so much challenge involved (although I do wonder if the various War Plans do come with assisting alliances for the nations on the wrong end of them).

Some of the War Plan focus tree branches in-game come with some fascinating alliance possibilities: fighting the USSR comes with an "unholy alliance," which I can only assume means allying with Germany, and it seems that even War Plan Red's path eventually leads to a USSR alliance through anti-imperialism.
My plan, personally, is to ally with Japan on the grounds of anti-European imperialism. I'll start off in 1936 by immediately improving relations with them, followed by offering a non-aggression pact: I won't expand any further in the Pacific if they agree to skip over the Philippines when they conquer southeast Asia. Combine this with me never embargoing them and we should be on pretty good terms. Such good terms, in fact, that maybe an alliance will become possible. Just imagine the Iowa and Yamato sailing side-by-side as friends, or even with the former being a part of lend-lease!
My first run of the game will have an AI-controlled Britain, but one of my later goes at the war will have a UK player who's just as intent on conquering me as I am on conquering his possessions in the Americas. We both agree that Germany's and Japan's stances can easily swing the outcome of the war, so we're both probably going to end up trying to bribe them, especially if Germany and Japan are player-controlled (which they most likely will be).Haha, it is definitely an interesting plan, although unless the Brits get some decent allies of their own, the US'll chew them up without too much trouble. Love the idea of lend-lease Iowas.
That's absolutely ridiculous! But I love it!USA
Reason: War Plan Red
I'm gonna have so much fun with this.... I'll be replaying that same war again and again and again! I'm still going through scans of the historical documents, preparing my cheat sheet of how it would have historically gone so that I can replicate it in the game!
Here's my current progress on the cheat sheet:

I like to say that when France falls, the British will cry out, "Help us, America!" and as a reply I will softly whisper to them, "No."That's absolutely ridiculous! But I love it!
"Hey Winston, Tizard this (obscene gesture)"

We also both agree that no matter who ultimately wins in that theater there's going to be an island-hopping campaign in the Pacific to put World War II to shame.
