So I recently asked myself:
Apparently we have plenty of Tank models (with the cosmetic dlc) but how is it designed if I for example create a Division that includes plenty of different Tank models due to older models mixed with a newer generation or just tactical combination of heavy medium and light.
The division is represented as one Tank.
So which one will it be? For example an Panzerdivision with mainly pz3 and a few Stugs and one lonely Königstiger.
Will the latest tech will be represented as a 3d model or the tank class that makes most % of the division?
I would surely prefer the Königstiger as the representative of this example division

(I am sorry if this has been asked before, could not find a similar thread.)

I would guess it would show the most modern tank model and if there is a mix of different types, either the biggest type (i.e heavy tanks for example) or the one in the majority. It would feel somehow wrong to see a PzII model in a division with Tiger II for example, only because they are in the minority tho.

On a related note. Which modle is chosen when you have an even mix of infantry and tank divisions?

It would probably be determined by the softness/hardness ratio in that case. In the Division Designer you see a meter that shows the ratio between softness and hardness. If the Division has a higher hardness factor it would be considered a tank division and if it would have a higher softness factor it would be a infantry division.

If yo can relate to HOI3 then the counter would display the heaviest Tank (so an Grosstraktor would be the Model even if you have already Luchs Tanks in the division). But i do not think that the soft/hardattack ratio would be important in the case of infantry or tank model. In HOI3 4 inf + 1medium tank would be displayed as an medium tank. So you can say about the weight of the models: cavallry<infantry<motorized infantry<mechanized infantry(if there is an model therefore)<light tank<medium tank<heavy tank<superheavy tank. Would make sense.
