How comes that Victoria does not have a single real preview as of right now? Majority of games at this stage of development are being previewed by all major publications...

Because the game is probably too good to be hyped. Mainstream media is all about selling crap.
Strategy First's other games usually get alot more attention. Besides, previous Paradox games had more information on them available in the "mainstream" publications.
And concerning "being too good to be hyped"...if this game sells poorly, Paradox might not consider making another game on EU engine. Besides, it is not true that hype always marks a poor game...Morrowind's a great game, after all, even though it was probably the most hyped game in history of CRPGs.

I hype it at mst possible when I am with my friends, because I won't have any friends left if I get Vicky

paradox games DO need more hype; but, even though Strategy First does do a bad job of selling paradox products, they can not be responsible for all the blame. games that are coming out in a month need previews to make people who don't spend half their free time on this web site excited about the release also. i don't recall one preview of HoI, only a short reviews that come out usually a month or two after the release. i have always believed the the publisher was responsible for advertisement, while the developer was responsible for the spread of game details. it seems, in america, that neither end is holding up their part.
I am worried about this too! Perhaps this game is a make it or break it kind of release for Paradox. Let us all pray for a success...and let´s play it rough against any sign of piracy.
Victoria only gone gold a few days ago. I suppose the reviewers work with this versions, so they need time to play the game and write the reviews. I´m convinced that in few days we will be seeing a lot of reviews.
EU I saw at EBGames, bought it and loved it but i never visited the forums. Because of this it wasnt until early 03 that i learned of HoI while reading a PC Gamer at the doctors office. I dont remember what issue of PC Gamer it was but it must have been the Oct. or Nov. 2002 because it said HoI would be out soon.

Ok - maybe a little harsh. But we will give these games days and weeks of testing to see if we can learn the tricks of the trade. They don't have the time.

Hopefully the Wargamer.com will at least do a preview. I also first learned about HoI in PC gamer magazine.

Gamespot had a preview too I believe.
Also, I remember seeing Gamespy having a rather funny rant about game-reviewers disappearing after having played EU2....

PC gamer (UK) had a small preview IIRC. Enough to alert any strategy fans out there who don't frequent these boards.
I asked someone of a store selling computer games whether they were gonna sell Victoria. He had never heard of the game before...
