I definately agree, with the points made on how if the monarch is represented "physically" on the map, then there should definately be some bonus.

I don't think personal strength would matter terribly in the game. :)

However, it would be nice to have more attributes than the three in EU. Adding a political leadership attribute (as regards the internal loyalty and willingness to cooperate of nobles, townsmen, etc.) would be a start.

Perhaps military ability could be separated into morale (good at rallying the troops) and tactics (good at directing battles) components.

Sounds great as long as all of them are useful. Don't wanna be like some of those RPGs where you have a thousand traits and only 8 of them are any use in the game.:)

Nah, seems like they all will be tied to your monarch being able to accumulate or lose those piety and prestige points. Like if he's sitting on his butt and doing nothing (lazy) his prestige will suffer.

Lets hope so. Ten is a lot of traits if you are not role playing. Perhaps some of them are for flavor, like hair and eye color to give you the feeling of a real person instead of just some numbers.:)

I would think fertility should be a hidden trait. Because it was an unknown factor. Is it the king's fault or the queen's? Do you try to annul the marriage and find another more fertile queen or work on setting up a brother or something as king. If you know the fertility its much easier and you can have years to prepare while the king is young, IMHO.

It probably shoudl be hidden so, as you pointed out, it cannot be taken advantage of. On the other hand, folks used to judge the possible fertility (mostly of the women) by how many offspring their parents/family had produced. So there was at least some guesstimation of fertility back then.:)

Much of the function of EU Diplomatic relations is taken over by the traits and Piety&Prestige. Thus other monarch will react on your traits and treat you as you deserve...:)

lol Sonny. I'd love to see him try. *hint hint*

Naw, I think there should be some sort of representation of the King/noble who you inhabit. If nothing else, it would be a very fun addition to the game--seeing yourself. Beyond that, there are some pretty convincing historical reasons to put him in there, particularly now that we're on this smaller scale in CK.
