where is unity focus for sector ai? there is no focus option for the new resource.

also, i cant believe the sector system still locks you completely out of planet tiles. rather than allowing you to override or give orders. i played the game once at launch but felt it was a bit incomplete. now that i've paid for the game+expansion proper and it's been like nearly a year and AI still poor??

**oh also, if sectors are negative energy, stations won't work. wtf? so food is now empire wide but you can't subsidize sector from core systems???

There are hardly and buildings which provide unity (unless you have the bonus for farms).

The AI got better and it is really helpful to see what the sector AI is thinking. After some testing I definitely know what I'm missing to setup good planets before I hand them over.

But you can subsidise a sector. Either lower their taxes or send them money.

The monument / heritage things and the energy grid upgrade from the prosperity tree? I dunno about farms

Sure, these buildings exist but you can't fill a 25 tile planet just with them. What should the sector do with the rest?

The AI tries to be self-sufficient and builds enough power plants to not make a loss and enough mineral network to have a certain amount of income to make reserves for further upgrades in the future. After that all the remaining tiles are filled with the set focus. How would that work with the 3-4 buildings one can build which produce unity?

I agree with you that they should built at least the monument, but that should be independent of the focus. I actually don't know if the new sector AI takes them into account in my last game I had a huge amount of core sectors and could make the layout before handing the planets off to a sector.

There still need to be some kind of option

Or implement a manual override. Why on earth has that still not been done? In real life there are things like imperial decrees, executive orders, etc that orders a specific change even if other stuff are being run at a local level.

There are 2 buildings (I think) that produce unity on their own. Each of which is limited 2 one a planet. Most other buildings produce a secondary resource, and are still also limited to one a planet (Except farms, but that's civic-locked). Having a unity focus wouldn't make much sense. However, if you get agrarian idyll you can set your sector to agriculture focus, and go with that.

Does anybody know if sectors build the monument/heritage site on their own?

And yes, I agree with you that an override function would be great. I guess it isn't in the game to prevent the player to basically ignore sectors and build everything themself. That would be an advantage over the AI, who isn't the greatest with building stuff. I just wish we could do this once or twice every few years on sector planets just to make sure that some buildings are definitely present (maybe with additional costs? That would dissuade players to micromanage.

I mean you sorta can, just remove it from the sector, queue the building, and add it back. All at the measly cost of 25 influence. Either that, or build the buildings before you put them in the sector...
