Where is the 2.36c BETA patch? Or a link to it (even better)? I see many references to it, but I cannot find it. The current Steam installation for Rome Gold appears to be 2.32c. I'd like to update as the forums seem to indicate some problems.

With the recent Steam sale, there may be a lot of others looking for answers, sooo.... to help others:

solops asked:
How do you apply the patch to a Steam version of the game? Specifically, can you make a copy of the Rome folder in the Steam directory to apply the patch to and still have the game work? Because I see multiple warnings NOT to apply the patch to the original folder. Seems like the Steam DRM would shut down a copy...??? Help?

jdrou replied:
Copy the game to a folder outside the steam folder and apply the patch to the copy. Create a shortcut to the exe file on your desktop or wherever is convenient. Steam is not required to run the game.
