Again it is not just about seeing the USA. It is just that in WWII when watching the USA (allies) it will show us the most that the game has to offer and can do. While at the same time showing us all the changes from HOI3 to HOI4. We are not going to get that watching Hungary.
Where is the navy and all those changes. America has a crap ton of ships.
Where is the air forces of the world? American has a crap ton of planes.
Where is the armour?
Where are the para's?
America (the allies) will show more about the game, it's changes and features than 100 Hungary's ever will.
If there was a country that did more in the war, had more equipment, more implements of war I would want to see that. But it is America like it or that that brought the most, had the most & did the most in the war.
Sorry I want to see, witness, learn, enjoy MORE. Not 3 divisions with hand guns and slingshots fighting 3 divisions with rifles and a single hand grenade. AKA Hungary, Poland & Japan.
No, your opening assertion was that there are lots of Americans and they would like to see America being played but yes lets keep moving the goal posts. All the things you suggest navy, air etc can be shown by any major country not just USA it is down to the person playing to show these things off not the country they choose.

The country I live in is France, the corresponding geographic area is France, we are the French, our state is the French Republic, and our continent has a completely different name. Why would you make it any more complicated?

Jokes aside, America would be intresting from 1941, but since the long wait is what differentiates it from the other countried, I don't think there is much point in doing them in relatively short videos. It would sort of miss the point.

So you're saying that more stuff to show = instantly better?
Not exactly. It is just that Paradox stated they were trying to make HOI4 more accessible, more player friendly, more streamlined to get more people into the game and growing the brand.
We heard the the OOB was removed
We heard that the Air power offense/defense has changed from 3. Have you seen how in these WWW's?
We heard that naval warfare has changed from 3. Have we seen how in any WWW?
ETC. ETC. ETC.

We keep getting shown infantry fighting. That is something we need to see? That is going to peak our interests and sell more copies?
So they make the changes and don't show us any of them?
The game is release D-Day and we can't see the D-Day invasion in a WWW?

Just odd to me that HOI4 was changed from HOI3 for reasons of player ease and accessibility yet we have not seen a single game change, in action, in the game during the war?
You are going to grow the market with a rifle and a pistol? You don't want to show AC's or BB's or Armour or Fighters or Bombers or or or? You are just going to show me a gun battle that could have taken place at the O.K Corral?

There was a vote to decide what country they will play. USA didn't win, so peoples don't think like you and you can't force them to adopt you ideas. It's democracy, the thing USA defend so much (theoretically at least).

This is just a lie. We have seen navy in Japan WWW and in the first Hungary WWW (as Italy). We saw airforce in detail in multiple WWWs. We saw armor in Hungary WWW as the community asked for it. In my opinion Paradox have done an excelent job at showing off the different features of the game to the public, as was their intention.

Is there a particular reason you are ignoring the multiplayer WWW they did first where some of this stuff was, in fact, covered?
We've seen lots of these changes across all of the WWWs, they just apparently haven't displayed them in a way that pleases you.

I also can't comprehend how you don't consider Japan a proper nation to showcase naval combat.

Like I said. They could have played behind the scenes until D-Day then started the stream. I mean the game is released on D-Day. How in the hell don't you show the D-Day invasion in a WWW when you're trying to increase sales?
So we had to watch Japan land in China and not the allies landing in Sicily?

That is still 41 until 45 playing a major nation fighting on multiple fronts... It'll take fucking forever. It took multiple play throughs to watch a minor play out over like a single year... You're honestly underestimating the time required massively.

Well this is true but couldn't Daniel just play America up to 1/1/1941 then turn on the stream? Then we could watch the attack on pearl harbor and then go forward from there?
How could anyone not want to see America liberate France? Naval invasions? Shore bombardments? Paratroopers? Supply lines? North Africa?

I'm no WWII expert but I'm thinking that most if not all Europeans today would be either under fascist or communist rule if not for America. I know that other countries lost mucho doods. However most of them were fighting for their own homelands. Americans were fighting for your homeland, not theirs. o_O

I'm just talking about the WWW.

No. The lack of a presence of the United States would not have meant a German or otherwise fascist victory. While it certainly made sure that several European countries did not live under Communism, the war against Nazi Germany was won mostly through the efforts and sacrifices of the Soviet people. Your comment is very ignorant and honestly very typical of you not-so-well informed westerners (not to be confused with the vast majority on this forum, who mostly a have a very good idea about the war in Europe), and it saddens me. 30 million Soviet people died in the struggle against fascism, and yet apparently they were not relevant. I know for a fact that speaking such opinions would land you an ass-whooping on the streets of Moscow, and rightfully so.

You did not end the war. While you certainly contributed, the war in Europe was ended by Soviet forces. Lots of nations contributed, the USA, the Polish, the British, the French, the Yugoslav Partisans who liberated their own country with little outside help, and lots of other minor nations which also helped us in the struggle against nazism. But don't say that you won/ended the war, for you did not.

America is not a continent...North America and South America are continents.

Depends on where you live. In the US, we learn there are 2 continents. North and South America. In South America, they learn the entire western hemisphere is "America" or "the Americas". (at least that's what I've been told) So that is why there is a beef with people from the US saying we are Americans. Either way, we are not the only ones. Europeans call us Americans and that we are from America(instead of the US). There really is no solution. It's engrained in the culture of both sides of the issue.

So you are now just changing the premise for this thread into a general rant about what gets shown in pre-release videos?

I'm an American and I totally agree with you. I'm no expert but common sense tells me that without American involvement in Europe, the Soviets would not have stopped until they got to the Atlantic. The Soviets would have won, regardless.

The Pacific was an entirely different story of course. We did win that part of the war, nearly on our own, with the help of some allies.

I do consider Japan a proper nation.
But what did they show us? Did you see the Japanese navy do anything but land 4 divisions in China? That was a naval battle? That showed you all the changes of the way navy performs from 3 to 4?
There is 38 pages (3 threads combined) about the new Planning Bonus System. Now the devs combined the three so you know they know. Yet not a video setting the record straight? Not even in text do they explain how it works?

"We are going to change the game from 3 is these ways (navy, air, BP, etc.) but we are not going to show you how because we want to sell more copies?" HUH?

Kinda looks to me that the only line you read of hewhoispale's comment was the one you quoted. As he says, we have seen most of the games features in multiple WWWs, including the multiplayer WWWs.

They want my $90 bucks just like they want yours. They stated that soooooooo many things were going to be changed from 3 to 4. All I'm asking is to see those changes.
I said use America for the simple fact that America is the #1 consumer market in the world! You can't state you want to sell more copies and increase sales yet show Hungary and Poland? Before America? To create more buzz? So why tell us they are trying to do this that and the other in the marketplace and that things are market driven when they are ignoring the #1 consumer market in the world?
I said use America for the simple fact they produce the most, build the most, have the most. I'm sick and tired of watching one dood with a switchblade fight another dood with a wrist rocket. It's WWII not 1717. Can we see one just one tank in action?
I said use America for the simple fact if you want to see a real naval invasion why not watch the one on D-Day?
Can we once just once see how the new air force system works? What changes were made? I can't watch US (allied) bombers attacking Germany and then learning, watching the new air defense system and how it works in 4?

We did multiple times. Off hand we saw air coverage throughout www and we saw a navy battle in the med, italy vs ....france? Iirc

It's engrained in the culture of both sides of the issue.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continent#Number_of_continents
the continental model classifying "America" as one big giant landmass is quite limited in scope. US, UK, China, India, Russia, Japan, English-speaking countries, etc. all teach North and South America. The number of people who are actually taught "America" is wayyyyy smaller. To actually complain about ignorance and respect about "America" being a continent when you are in fact the much smaller minority is ignorance in itself.

I'm an American and I totally agree with you. I'm no expert but common sense tells me that without American involvement in Europe, the Soviets would not have stopped until they got to the Atlantic. The Soviets would have won, regardless.

The Pacific was an entirely different story of course. We did win that part of the war, on our own, with the help of some allies.

Oh yes. No argument there, you were the main force behind the victory in the Pacific, no other nation had the naval power to stop Japan.

America fighting so far away from their territory makes them a bit safe and less fun to play. It would seem that Japan may have a petty easy naval invasion option of the West Coast because of the way convoys and troop movement is simplified. I suppose it would be fairly easy to maintain naval supremacy for the Americans off their coasts. I like playing America because of the industrial base. I'm sure my first game will be USA to help learn industry, air wings and naval groups before I get involved. Hoping to see late 1941' entry into the war. I think I'm going to national focus every research slot available and go advanced everything. :D
