I'm just sayin. We had to watch Hungary. Paradox will sell how many copies to Hungary? Paradox will sell how many copies to America? Hey, when I was in sales I sure as hell knew who was buttering my bread as the saying goes.
I like the Red France. However, the time spent on Japan & Hungary could not have been spent on America?
I'm not saying everything has to be about America. However how about just a little love?

Well this is true but couldn't Daniel just play America up to 1/1/1941 then turn on the stream? Then we could watch the attack on pearl harbor and then go forward from there?

It would not be very interesting. All the decisions are already done in 1941. It would just be production for the first two years and fighting in the Pacific...

I'm no WWII expert but I'm thinking that most if not all Europeans today would be either under fascist or communist rule if not for America. I know that other countries lost mucho doods. However most of them were fighting for their own homelands. Americans were fighting for your homeland, not theirs. o_O

I'm just talking about the WWW.

Japan and Germany declared war, not USA. They were fighting for their country too. And go to Europe make them the most powerful country in the world. If they didn't do that, it would be Soviet Union.

The communist rule would probably have been better without the cold war.

America is a country. North America and south America are contenents.

America is A continent. United States of America is a country.

Anyway, if I am right, in the WWW they also do not "care" to much about USSR. I think because they could be a little bit "boring" to show since they are quite isolated before 1941.

And... anyway... they have also a little love for Italy, and an Italian discovered America giving it a name... and they have also have a little love for China, and China has almost bought 70% of America at the moment :p

Not in the USA. They were fighting and dying in Europe/Asia not in America. That did not happen in America until citizens were buying guns for a $1 and killing each other in the streets.
I'm really not interested in the decisions. I want to see naval invasions. I want to see how multiple bomber squadrons pummelling Germany how does the German air defense react? Why we could not see air battles in huge numbers? I wanted to see co-op with America's two fronts. Daniel in the Atlantic someone else in the Pacific.

Russia won the war imho. America just accelerated it.

To be fair: US trucks and soviet lives won the war, you may decide what was more important.

------

The US were never that interesting to play in HoI. You had to watch stuff going in Europe and Asia for quite some time until you were able to actually participate in most of the games. And when you were finally in the war, you would be so powerful that the AI could do nothing to stop you anyway. Leaving you with tedious island hopping and supply being by far the biggest problem.

The countries they showed during WWW were a pretty large mix between some of the more interesting options in the game. I really doubt they showed Japan to cater to a massive Japanese audience. ;)

So, because the USA represents the largest purchasing block of video games, you want the game producers to pander? No thanks, enough of that happens already.

There were naval invasions on the WWW with Japan. And I don't see why we have to play USA to see air battles. Germany is good too, and now that's boring.

How could anyone not want to see America liberate France? [...] North Africa?

Yep, definitely no Canadian, Commonwealth, Free French or British troops involved there.

I'm no WWII expert [...] I know that other countries lost mucho doods. However most of them were fighting for their own homelands. Americans were fighting for your homeland, not theirs. o_O

A bit of editing, which I do apologise for, but 'mucho doods'??

Besides which, Hitler declared war on the USA, so it wasn't entirely benevolence on their behalf (even less so if the undeclared war in the Atlantic is considered).

I'm just talking about the WWW.

Maybe but I'd suggest some background reading into WWII, your argument is slightly ignorant.

I realize it is probably too late now but to just shut out the #1 purchaser of the product is well not very loving is it?

Being entirely serious, do you have any statistics to back that up? I'm genuinely interested where HOI (any version, not just HOI IV) is most popular.

To me it is nothing more than as a company, trying to increase sales, why would you hit the Hungary & Japan markets before the American market? The Japanese and Hungarian markets are larger than the American market? Pandering and increasing sales sometimes goes hand in hand. I don't know I thought that was obvious.
I'm just saying for a company that changed this that and the other from HOI3 to make it more accessible and to get more players involved in buying the game how they did not highlight the #1 consumer market is the world is well odd? And I'll go back to it again. Paradox did not show America their #1 supporter any love in the roll out to June 6th. Now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't June 6 more or less a HUGE American thing. Not so much Hungary or Japan significant date is it?

June 6th, not July. It also isn't a "HUGE" American thing, we don't even get the day off of work or school.

Most of the choices they made for the WWW streams were based on feedback. They asked "what should we show next?" and the answer was "Japan", it wasn't "USA". Shockingly enough, just because a player is from the USA, doesn't mean they only care about what playing as the USA looks like.

Yeah I totally get that and don't disagree. However not one person in sales, marketing, boss, bigger boss, biggest boss in not one meeting in 2+ years of designing the game that is was not known that America is the largest consumer market in the world and maybe just maybe if we want to increase sales and improve market share we should show/highlight/incorporate America somehow into the WWW's or some other visual way to ignite that market? All those people in charge of growing Paradox did not overrule the opinions of a few people in a chat room? YIKES!
Part two Hungary & Japan
How much did we learn about Daniel moving 2 divisions here and one whole division there and yes 3 divisions of infantry here. So it could not have been 1,500 bombers, 100+ ship naval invasion force, UK, Canada, Aussy , New Zealand etc. troops invading? We could not see the liberation of France? Seriously? That would not have been as good as Hungary?

Like I said. They could have played behind the scenes until D-Day then started the stream. I mean the game is released on D-Day. How in the hell don't you show the D-Day invasion in a WWW when you're trying to increase sales?
So we had to watch Japan land in China and not the allies landing in Sicily?

America is A continent. United States of America is a country.

Anyway, if I am right, in the WWW they also do not "care" to much about USSR. I think because they could be a little bit "boring" to show since they are quite isolated before 1941.

And... anyway... they have also a little love for Italy, and an Italian discovered America giving it a name... and they have also have a little love for China, and China has almost bought 70% of America at the moment :p

no, you are wrong about that. America is not a continent. North America is a continent. South America is a continent. the Americas or America is the title for all the countries of both North and South America.

So it could not have been 1,500 bombers, 100+ naval invasion force, UK, Canada, Aussy , New Zealand etc. troops invading? We could not see the liberation of France? Seriously? That would not have been as good as Hungary?
  1. So, you're saying that Paradox should appeal to their customers by ignoring their customers and giving them something else after asking what their customers wanted? This is increasingly sounding like you just wanted a USA WWW stream and are looking for outside justification to backup your disappointment.
  2. They could have shown those things, but the audience wanted to see other things. Too bad for those that wanted those things, but that's democracy for you.

#1 No what I'm saying is it was wrong in the first place to have voting to begin with. The marketing plan/sales plan should have had some say into how to grow the market and increase sales. If they had a say would it even have been brought up for a vote to begin with? Now I'm not saying they should have not given players the opportunity to vote to see what they wanted to see however BOTH could not have been done? Kinda odd no? Again Paradox has shown the American market place ZERO love thus far. You really can't argue with that.
#2 Again not quite sure how or why it had to be one or the other but.............

no, you are wrong about that. America is not a continent. North America is a continent. South America is a continent. the Americas or America is the title for all the countries of both North and South America.

I suspect it depends on where you find the definition (and where you live). Thus, sorry.
But I'm 99.999% sure that America does not mean USA.
