Yeah, Performance is maybe the wrong word.
Still imo, the 85mm D-5 L/51 didn't had the same performance as the 8.8cm KwK36 L/56. The 85mm S-53 L/54.6 (ZiS) probably had, but than again the Tiger I was running around on the battlefield around september/october 1942, while the 85mm ZiS variant was only available from january 1944. This is a two year gap.
But than we are comparing orange with apples, as the the 85mm was mounted on a cheaper and faster chassis.
What I would like to see in HoI4 and if the Piercing value from TFH is still in HoI4. (Personally I think the piercing and armour value's are a great addition, not everybody agrees about this), is that the piercing value is linked to the tank gun. So if a heavy tank has the same gun as a medium tank.
I.e: KV-85 -- T-34/85 -- SU-85, their piercing value should be the same, in HoI3 vanilla this isn't the case. That's why I modded it.
Ofcourse I agree that the flavour names should be there, otherwise modders can't mod/alter it. Imo Paradox always neglected land/air/naval models a bit, probably because they have limited time/budget and there are more important things to work on like a great military AI.
In one of the first dev. diaries, one of the coders not Podcat or Darkrenown posted a sample of the code for the tank tech tree / tank models. It's fantastic, beautiful things will be modded for HoI4.
Oh god yes. I've always wanted to see what would happen if i chose porsche designs over henchel, or if some prototype tanks would actually enter combat in mass production
OR AN ENTIRE E-SERIES OF GERMAN TANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
