Its personal probably. I dont like ammo in the legs because legs can get hit easily on the side arc.

On tabletop, not even in the head. The head is where you keep your backup Med Laser. But that's tabletop... not here.

Questions on the consequences of ammo explosion; would it be fair to say that if you get a hit that triggers ammo explosion and the location of that ammo is:
Head --> pilot dies
CT --> pilot dies
RT/ LT --> pilot injury, RT/ LT and RA/ LA destroyed
RA/ LA --> pilot OK, RA/ LA destroyed
RL/ LL --> pilot OK, RL/ LL destroyed

Would it be gamey/ against canon to have ammo far away from the weapon?
like for example, If I am carrying a big gun in the left arm, and having the ammo in the right one

For mediums and higher, is it better to have it in the CT where you have the most armor or legs?

Always legs. I'll even run 75% armor on the legs. They just rarely seem to get hit. CT is for gyros heatsinks and JJ's ONLY!

Mostly me thinks.

RL/LL --> Pilot Injury, RL/LL destroyed is what I've seen so far due to the inevitable knockdown and the injury associated with it you get if the legs is blown off.

I try to keep the ammo in the same section as the weapon that needs it. This might sound strange, but stop to think about it. If the ammo's destroyed, the gun's useless anyways, and the opposite is true if the gun gets destroyed. The only time I don't do this is when it's a torso slot and there's weapons in the arm on the same side since losing the torso means losing two sets of weapons. Other than that, if you have a lot of ammo, spread it out so losing one section doesn't leave your mech completely without ammo for one or more weapons.

Yeah, having the ammo with the weapon does make sense. Because losing one loses you the other usually. Unless you've got two weapons in different locations and are just using one ammo item. Then you have to be picky. :p
