I finished my game as Genocidal Purifier. After conquering the last planets and killing their last pops, I expected that only my species should remain, and that the "Suffer not the Alien" achievement is granted.

In the species list there are some strange xenos left, though:

7 Ixldars and one CARE unit somehow remain. Are they hidden behind some event? Is it possible to "wake them up" for getting the achievement?

If you hover over the pop number it does also show on how many planets they are living. Could it be that they are on the slave market?

In the worst case you would have to open the savegame (ironman saves can be opened by first open them with a zip program like 7zip and then using a text editor of your choice like notepad++)

first you have to find their species specification "species=xx" which you find roughly 30 lines after the start of the savefile, the start of this is "species_db={" without the "". The Cynn in the example below would now be called "species=2" for the rest of the file.

species_db={ 0={ traits={ } } 1={ name_list="HUM1" name="Pelisimus" plural="Pelisimi" adjective="Pelisiman" class="PLANT" portrait="pla3" traits={ trait="trait_void_dweller_1" trait="trait_intelligent" trait="trait_natural_engineers" trait="trait_nonadaptive" trait="trait_weak" trait="trait_thrifty" trait="trait_pc_habitat_preference" } home_planet=18 } 2={ name_list="AVI2" name="Cynn" plural="Cynn" class="AVI" portrait="avi3" traits={ trait="trait_slow_breeders" trait="trait_strong" trait="trait_adaptive" trait="trait_nomadic" trait="trait_pc_tropical_preference" } home_planet=27 name_data="cynn" }

If you now search for species=2 you will find all their members left in the galaxy inclusive their location in the galaxy (planet=x). in the example below the 28th pop in the galaxy is a Cynn, living on planet 27

28={ species=2 ethos={ ethic="ethic_spiritualist" } pop_faction=2 force_faction_evaluation=no enslaved=no job="administrator" category="ruler" planet=27 crime=0.85472 power=8 diplomatic_weight=2.14528 happiness=0.57264 can_migrate=yes amenities_usage=1 housing_usage=1 approval_modifier="faction_approval_average"

Now you search for the planet number " 27=" and you will find the ingame name of the planet after some clicks.

27={ name="Cynndor" custom_name=yes planet_class="pc_tropical" coordinate={ x=108.4303 y=19.7274 origin=860 } orbit=110 planet_size=19

I checked them and apparently they lived on one planet, but the planet was not indicated. Their home planet was mentioned, though - I turned it into a tomb world in the last war I fought. This might have broken something...

First I tried to settle the planet and see if those pesky xenos pop up. But they kept on hiding. So I moved my settlers away from that planet and blew it up with a world cracker. If they were hiding there, this should finish the off! Unfortunately this was apparently still not enough.

So I repeated this approach, but on a bigger scale - I blew up the whole galaxy! And this apparently did the trick, I immediately received the achievement after ending the game in this way. Sometimes you just need to think big!

CARE is a planetwide AI on one of the relic worlds, I believe. It does appear as the result of an anomaly, so maybe that's why you had trouble finding it? But I'm not sure why it would exist at all if the anomaly was never triggered...
