I haven't played enough of the recent patch to know for certain what I should do and problems I might run into, so I'm asking for advice on what I should do next.
My original plan was to get all the provinces needed to form Yuan, to collapse to Tengri Zealots, to claim Celestial Empire, to form Mughals and then to go into Yuan with Tengri and Hindu as syncretic faith for awesome tolerance of heathens, which means with humanist as well I could go without converting anything, without raising autonomy, to stack absolutism. And the numerous free perma claims would have made for the time before getting Imperialsim.
Then I discovered that Mughals can't form Yuan, even if the opposite is true, which makes me a little sad as finish with the glorious red of Yuan all over the map was kinda the idea here. I've read that you can form Russia inbetween to finish off with Yuan, because Russia is not blocked, that's an interesting idea. The only problem is Muscovy is allied with the Ottomans.
That brought me to another issue. If I understand how this works, and that's why I come here asking because I haven't held the Imperial Throne, I will lose Mandate for every neighbour I have, directly connected by land, that is not a tributary, based on their state development. Look at the map and you quickly see major issues. All of India, China and Persia I can make into tributaries more or less easily, but this will be almost impossible to do that to Ottomans+Muscovy or to PLC allied with Denmark. It may be possible, but I will have all the maluses from low mandate which makes it impossible to win a war vs such odds. Because I assume that much development will destroy my Mandate at insane speed. Am I right?
Does the fact I am allied with the Ottomans prevent them from being a trouble in this regard? I know a Horde allied with the Emperor does not provoke the Unguarded Nomadic Frontier Disaster, but I have read nothing about alliances preventing the decrease of Mandate from non-tributary neighbour.
If I release all my land neighbouring these European powerhouses, I guess that makes Ottomans, Muscovy and PLC not being my neighbours, right? Is making them vassals enough, or do I need to grant them independance and then forcing these states into Tributaries? That would allow me to gobble up all of Asia before integrating these states, and then turning on Europe. Is this viable?
Talking about Ming, it seems the only way to cripple them durably is really to make them lose their Emperor title, so it kinda forces me to get this Emperor title, right? I mean, if I ignore the tedious process of converting to an Eastern/Pagan religion through rebels and to care about who my neighbours are, I could simply form Mughals and conquer the world from there, and have a less opti, but maybe less problematic game. But then, Ming won't have a nomadic neighbour anymore, they'll instantly regain their morale and regain their Mandate slowly, am I right?
Being a Horde also starts being a problem, because Tribes really start being an annoyance with the amount of land they now ask, and having no income is really annoying as well. Razing is super cool, but right now I'm only crushing Ming because they have no Mandate, unguarded nomadic frontier, and I have defensive ideas and a 2 miltech advantage. They field 3 times the number of my troops with ease and barely any loan even if I keep on stackwiping them every time I encounter them. That's nice because their troops are trash, but that won't help me if I want to expand into anywhere else, especially because my pips will get more and more trash, and razing less and less effective. I'm extremely weak, because I can't fight any war of attrition, all the money I have comes from razing, looting, and extorting ducats in peacedeals. I guess it's really time to settle.
So here it is. Do I get the Celestial Empire and form Yuan? Do I form Mughals? Do I do both, with or without Russia inbetween? And how should I proceed regarding all of what I just mentioned?
Edit: Right, I can't turn Tengri out of rebels. I guess I'll just play a regular Mughals then, but what about my questions about Mandate and such?
