He also forgot the choice "Bought on an online store". When I bought it, I didn't bother to look at a store outlet at all. When I voted, I voted for preorder (even though it wasn't) because that was the closest to the truth.Sam Gamgee said:Johnny Canuck:
You forgot to add the choice: pre-ordered at a store (EB) only to have them jerk you around for 2 weeks until they finally filled all their web orders and bothered shipping to their retail outlets.

I think that this factor, much more than any other, played the most important part in Victoria's disappointing sales. And of course, many of still remember the debacle surrounding Victoria not being shipped when it was supposed to and all of the controversy around that. There were quite a few angry folks at that time.
It all comes down to this, it's really quite a simple truism of economics. You just can't buy something if you can't find it anywhere.

suppose a "new or vanilla" customer sees a box of Victoria, he might be overwhelmed by the box but most customers will look it up in a game magazine or online reviews, I don't think they'll visit this forum because were are already to much into details,
then they find a bad score for a new product in many sites "complex with too much micromanagement", they'll never buy it!
sorry to say but having good reviews - or in other words = "accepting a new to failry new concept" is a needed prerequisite,
the only issue is who's judging on these new concepts? Lara croft and C&C accolites?
