Where did Sweden build colonies?

It was the pirates on Madagascar that offered a lot of gold in exchange for protection. A British/French/maybe some more nations fleet dealt with the pirates before anything could be done. That's a very simplified version mind

My point was that Sweden didn't prioritize colonisation in the new world very much, it was too expensive and to unreliable for the Swedes. They prefered to expand there kingdom in Europe instead, much easier

I want to build up a real colonial empire with Sweden , but i don't know where did Sweden build up colonies. So can anybody tell me where was the Swedish colonies?

You could do what I did with my game as Sweden: colonize the Lesser Antilles, then later Jamaica and Curcao. It works well because your returns are high and Sweden generally can only get 2-4 colonists a year until sliders are really changed. Though fortify well and place refernies there as soon as you can. After New Sweden has been established, the Mississippi Basin/South Carolina are good expansion points.

* Guadeloupe (Guadeloupe Fund, 1813-1814)
* New Sweden (New Sweden Company in Delaware, 1638-1655)

This just isn't true. Chicago wasn't founded until after the War of 1812. The French had built a mission there in the early 1700's but the mission failed and was abandoned and the area that would become Chicago wasnt occupied again until 1779 by an African American named Jean Baptiste Point du Sable who moved from Sainte-Dominque and settled there. Fort Deerborn was built at the site from 1803-1804. During the War of 1812, the fort was abandoned due to fears on Indian attack and was burned after the troops left. The fort was rebuilt in 1816 and Chicago would finally be incorporated as a city in 1833.

No Swedes but a few French folk in the early history of the area of Chicago.
