All I see is 1914 and 1936. Where are these short campaigns that the information refers to? How do I access them? The tutorial doesn't seem to refer to any short campaigns.

Also, does this game come with any documentation? There should be documentation for the features that are unique to Darkest Hour (at a minimum).

There are only 2 Grand campaigns in Darkest Hour Full for the moment. All DD/Arma campaigns are still available in Darkest Hour Full or (none)m but those use the old map, events, techs and so.

You can check the "\Darkest Hour\Modding documentation\Guide to Darkest Hour.pdf" about details of the added new features in Darkest Hour or Darkest Hour Development Diaries Archive.pdf located into the same folder. Not a real manuals, but the closer to a guide files we have so far.

Here's what it says in Facebook: Short and grand campaigns allow players to experience the darkest hours of the 20th century, from the Great War to the onset of the Cold War". That's also what it says right one the Darkest Hour website itself. Where are the SHORT campaigns. Don't advertise them if they don't exist! That's false advertisement. It's also fraud.

The first word is "short". Where are the short campaigns? Who posted the information about Short campaigns in Darkest Hour?

What a strange thing to be getting annoyed about :p

From what I heard, the guy who was meant to be designing the battlescenarios (pretty much what a 'short' campaign is, imo) either went AWOL or ran into problems with it, and so they didn't make it into the inital release. Also, new scenarios will be released for free with future patches by the dev team.

Then the information about the game on its website and on Facebook should be corrected. And it's not strange to object to a product making false claims.

Well, no, it really is not a strange thing to get annoyed about. Some people actually bought this game on the strength of the advertisements. In addition to that, there is NO manual (quickstart guides and modding documents are NOT manuals). How do you expect the general public to react when you do not supply the minimum expected to actually learn and understand the game as well as hype the game in the ads to cover cold war scenarios etc etc which do not exist when you buy the game?

Will apologies be forthcoming?

IMO the lack of a basic manual makes DH appear to be geared for the hard core Hoi2 players whoo played Hoi2, and Aod and probably only skim the manual if they opened it up at all. And im buying it mainly because a couple of my favorite mods are comming over to DH namely TRP, but that also puts me in the catagory of hard core Hoi2 player. Because i play Aod for Core and Cold War extension.

No appologies need to be given. Does the ads say the game will provide campaigns or battlescenarios when you buy? NO it dont, be happy devs wont charge for additional content. The Battlescenario everyone is talking about is a ful blown mini mod for DH, a game with its own map and as said the devs of this project had problems with the map since the DH maper was busy with DH (to make it short), but theres also another more traditional Battlescenario which I am taking care of.

Actually here is what the ad says

Developed by a team of experienced modders from the Paradox forum, Darkest Hour is a stand-alone Hearts of Iron game featuring a mixture of short and in-depth campaigns set across the darkest chapters of the 20th century, from the outbreak of the Great War up to the onset of the Cold War.

So, yes, it does say it will supply short campaigns.

Read the ad before you post. As a consumer, I really don't care about the ins and outs of the development problems. It is simple, if you advertise it...provide it. Otherwise change the ad.

And there ARE short campaigns in Darkest Hour 1.0. Check Darkest Hour Light:

What is exactly the defenition of a SHORT campaign?

I think playing WWI is a short campaign (4 years!) while extending the time limit to 28 years is a LONG campaign ...

Anyway, keep it cool, this is a GREAT game, cost me only 9$, and I'm sure the devs will release new goodies over time.

:)

I should hope battle scenarios are at least prioritised behind a 1913 or so campaign. Anything much earlier than that, and the massive arms buildups it would facilitate, would make little historical sense, but in the 1914 start I do not find myself able to organise the nation into feeling 'mine' before the Great War breaks out. It's all rather playable, simply disconcerting.
