Feel free to add trolly wires to any tram to make it look "realistic" in game.
elevated metros have no supports when over roads but it's not a big deal. Cims teleport from the road station to the metro station, which doesn't bother me, and I don't see you complaining about that.

There are 2 issues, teleport issue has be metioned, it doesn't mean i don't care about that. no piers is another bug

It's really difficult to script it so that the pillar modules fit with whatever situation is encountered. Certainly not impossible, but difficult. Spending hours to improve minimal cosmetic effects would mean that CO's programmer (if I recall the credits correctly CO only has one) would not be working on far more important features, bugs and glitches.

You use imagination when building your networks, can you not just imagine the pillars are there? :p
