....is this a good idea to remain celibate (but not chaste) until a while ?

I mean, my current PC was 12 when he was crowned. If he marry at 15, I might end up being suceeded by his grandson or great grandson, or be succeeded by a 50 years old son
If I marry at 30 or even 40, my heir will be much younger.

12 is nothing. I've had rulers with long reign bonuses before they've got a portrait.

Once I even had a ruler get 'the great' nickname without the ambition after he reigned for 21 years and then died incapable after suffering a head wound in battle at the fine age of 21. Before my previous ruler died at 18 I didn't even notice he'd had a son.

Under age rulers are a bad short term problem but are actually beneficial in the long run, I once inherited the ERE as a 2 month old infant because his idiot of a father died in battle against the Fatimids. By the time he came of age his short reign malus was gone and by the end of his life he ended up gaining over 25K prestige and was made a saint of the newly united Christian church. He also pushed the borders out almost as far as Justinian did and included much of Italy, Egypt, and Jeruselem

And that exactly is the real strenght of the Byzantine Empire and Muslim inheritance - they can have younger son inherit leading to very long reigning monarchs. And this is also the reason why edit: Seniority is a very bad inheritance law.
As for the OP: consider marrying an old woman (60+) so that she will be dead by the time you're 30. Or if you can hope for a lot of piety 45+ and divorce (or kill) her later.

It's ok to have an underaged ruler once in a while, but a real pain having them continuously. You end up fighting one civil war after another and just when things start going well your PC dies and the cycle continues. I had a short reign as a 40+ King who got smashed in the head during a revolt (independence war). He died soon after and I had a child emperor who I nursed all the way to adulthood. Then just when I had enough opinion to actually do something, and had prepared to take England. Had a claimant and all when my Emperor died. I was like, ok I'll keep going. I then had a Jihad and an independence war. On top of that my claimant for England died in prison because while I wasn't watching his liege (my spymaster had him imprisoned and he ended up dying in prison). That was the last straw. I reloaded.

BTW: Your 45 year old wife just might give you an heir...or two. You never know. ;)

In my defense I didn't put it on Primogeniture, that was the AIs doing. And I could never change it because some count or something was always fighting

Actually what I wrote was not what I meant. Primogeniture is OK, it's Seniority that is very bad becuse it often results in very short-reigning monarchs. Primogeniture is quite good if you know how to strategically use churches to remove unwanted heirs from the line of succession.

I rather like getting infant kings as it allows me to get a bunch of long reign bonus to squander around being a tyrant.
But then again i practice the dark art of elective breeding in most of my catholic games and thus only get heirs that are strong+genius :p
