When I revoke a vassal Republic or Theocracy, while using Princely Elective and nominating a child (hence, a demesne heir), he becomes the heir to the revoked title, which makes him the heir to non-dynastic title, which makes him ineligible to be my nominee. This causes him to be removed from succession.
Practically speaking, this imposes some concern about reordering the realm while also elderly and dying of gout. Thank God that I would never, ever try to play Ironman on a game this... gimpy.
Please just make it so that, if the heir to a higher-level title (HRE) becomes heir to a lower-level title as well (a city republic), he can continue to be heir to the HRE, and if he inherits, he will simply have the wrong type of holding in his demesne.
