I've recently switched out my full HD monitor for a QHD one, increasing the resolution from 1920x1080 to 2560x1440. Since that makes the fonts too small to read, I've also used the UI scaling to increase the UI from 1.0 to 1.5
This works excellent.
Except for one thing I've found so far.
The declare war panel is now too high. Which means that the button to actually start the war is now below the bottom of the screen. Which, of course, makes it unreachable. And so, you can no longer start a war.
Well, you can, but then you need to save the game, scale back the UI factor, quit and restart, load the save, start the war, save the game again, scale back the UI to the original setting, quit and restart the game, load the save and continue playing. Quite the palaver.
I chose scale factor 1.5 for a good reason. For one, it makes the already small font the game uses good readable. But, more importantly, it's probably the best scale factor (besides going to 2.0) to minimise scaling artifacts on all of the artwork.
One side note is also in order. In HOI4, I don't need UI scaling (if it were even in the game). Not only is the font used in HOI4 a bit bigger than the one in EU4, it's also a non-serif font. Which in itself makes it better readable.
