An issue I can think of is why would the first event happen. In Northumbria it was because it was where the Roman and Insular churches met, both establishing monasteries and there was a mixing of ideas, but how would you represent this in game?

VIET adds sime similar traits, so they are not needed.

Is Northumbria a multi-province kingdom? Then we would just mix the provinces religions up a bit. Otherwise, some of the courtiers could be Nicenes
 
Renaissance events should only happen at start dates at their time. Events like that only happened by chance of circumstance. I know it's hard, but streamlining history is not fun.

You are definetly, right they are not going to be enforced, but they could be tied to certain positions and decisions. For example if a person with certain traits create an empire they could happen dynamically, or they could be more generalized. A ruler could decide to support culture in his domain and tech could be given boosts.

Now that is just wrong:

Arrogant - having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities.
Proud - feeling deep pleasure or satisfaction as a result of one's own achievements, qualities, or possessions or those of someone with whom one is closely associated.

Arrogant =/= Proud

Fat - having too much flabby tissue.
Gluttonous - tending to eat and drink excessively.

Fat =/= Gluttonous.

Quiet - free from anger, impatience, or other extreme emotion.
Shy - disposed to avoid a person or thing.

Quiet =/= Shy.

Athletic/Fit - vigorously active.
Strong - involving or possessing physical or mental strength.

Athletic/Fit =/= Strong.

Inspired - as if aroused or guided by something divine.
Inspiring - causing people to want to do or create something or to lead better lives.

Inspired =/= Inspiring.

They are basically the same, an arrogant person is basically somebody proud but without the skills to back it up. The game also shows an exaggerated self-importance in one of the events that you get the proud trait, identical to how you described Arrogant.

You get fat as a result of being gluttonous, most persons in the game who are gluttonous would thus be fat. A event also describes gluttons as being unattractive, probably due the fact that they indeed are fat.

So it litterally is the Patient trait then?

Being athletic is basically the same as being strong. I suppose fit is a combination of strong and diligent and can furthermore also be distributed in one of the lifestyle traits which basically specifies that they are active and what they are active in.

Inspired - as if aroused or guided by something divine.
Inspiring - causing people to want to do or create something or to lead better lives.

Inspired is then according to your definition basically what Zealous is now
Inspiring is already in the game, trait number 105, inspiring leader.

Inspiring Leader: This character has a way of reaching directly into the hearts and minds of the soldiers on the battlefield, and not just with a sword.
 
Those traits are ,however, partially added by VIET (who is integrated). There are also a lot more congenital traits.
 
 
 
A problem with too many loadingscreens can be that the mod becomes very heavy to download, so I would limit it to a few selected amongst the others. Remember that this is a major overhaul, after all so it will probably be quiet heavy anyway. Maybe you could leave them as an optional flavour and not included in the main download?

Does anyone know some good music that is copyright free that could be used for this period? It could be good to have that as an additional flavour element.

That is good, I also thought upon that music, but was not sure about what would fit. Lux Invicta has some unique music if I remember correctly, maybe that could be a good source?
