Mod is in closed beta and has been for like 6 months... the open beta or first release which will be out by the end of this year will have over half a years worth of bugtesting and gameplay additions to give you guys the best initial release possible!

Attention Citizens of the Empire:

Your Emperor (In His Infinite Wisdom) has decided to come to the masses with a task for the huddled thousands all seeking Enlightenment. One curious region in the world is that of Sassanian Persia, with a variety of religions all competing for dominance, or simply to survive. Due to this, the Emperor (Ever farsighted is his reign) will ask many of the people aged in knowledge of this region to prepare a report on cultures and religions in the area. This will take intense research, as various sources conflict, and urge the masses to try and find unique and perhaps unknown areas of religious or cultural majority or minority. For all we know, there could be some little known culture or cult in an area that we never knew of. The same goes for Gaul, which can be inferred by Hellenic Pagan majorities and power in Italy and Spain, that there is more to it than just a blob of Nicene Romano-Gauls. I ask the researches to not only find this, say where it should be, how it could be represented, and how flavor or mechanics should be allotted to these discoveries. As the Emperor rewards his faithful, he (may his every action be blessed) will be writing a Dev Diary on North Africa, along with info on intended flavor for the new religions and nations there.

Have there been any updates to Persia since the last dev diary on it? I need an up-to-date screenshot before I offer advice that may or may not be redundant.

If you live in a college town, even if you're not a student you could find sources and information at the university library or on Jstor, most universities will let community members use their library. Whining to the great and powerful Enlil will get you nowhere.

I think Gaulish should be in the Latin culture group, since it was already developing into Romance French (obviously not "French" because there were no Franks there at the time, but a Romance language similar to French without the Germanic influences) by 410. Most, if not absolutely all of the people in Gaul spoke Latin as their everyday language for business and leisure.

Edit: Also arguably the Britons' language was developing into Romance by this point. Maybe have it initially in the Latin culture group, and then once the Irish have a high enough Tolerance tech level or some other high cultural tech, have an event to change it to the Celtic culture group to represent how they became increasingly isolated and turned towards their Irish neighbours particularly for cultural identity (theoretically, at least - they are the dark ages, after all).

No, the Gallic language survived in its Celtic form up until the 6th century. Most of Gaul is Romano-Gallic though.

Hmm, what does everyone think about another trailer, and then another one on the day of release? To the beta group!
The beta group is to "everyone" closed and should stay so. Do you mean that those interested by this should reply here?
Hadn't even thought of Roman-Gallic before I posted. This is obviously a better solution.
Which has been in the mod since first beta version and throughoutly discussed a few pages earlier.
