When I first heard of Soissons, I thought someone said "soy sauce".

While I can sympathize with the frustration about 'historical necromancy', it'd be hypocritical of me not to encourage it. I'm with the Soissons crowd.

I chose to not vote because I really had no strong feeling with any of the nations presented, I just wanted to see them in action. I'm looking forward to Soissons not because of any perceived "historical Necromancy", per se, but more because they were but a footnote in history, and I really really like to see those political entites becoming world powers in my games (and AARs).

I would have to pick Soissons.
Also if you do recreate the WRE would the ERE get an event asking whether or not they want to recognize the restored WRE.

I want Soissons to see a romo-gaullish (howewer you spell that in english) France!

OK, perhaps it's just me. I seem to have a general dislike for all of historical necromancy, like "let's restore ERE in EU4". I mean, guys, have you seen ERE in 1444? They aren't in control of the entirety of their freaking capital, and it's not like they didn't deserve it"
The only reason I do this a lot in Paradox games is because it can sometimes be a chore to think of borders that would look cool rather than just recreating ones you know. Granted, it is very rewarding to forge an empire that never existed in history. But it can also be cool to save a nation which fate doomed to oblivion.

But we need you to create the Terror my lord Robespierre...

Our time will come, my apprentice, our time will come ...
Also, I don't know if it will be useful but in the case of a frankish conquest of gaul, two cultures should emerge : Germanic/frankish subjects and gallo-romans/romans subjects. In our timeline, this division will roughly evoluate in the Langue d'Oïl/Langue d'Oc division. So I advise you to create a "proto-frankish" culture that, if it come to dominate North France/South France might evolve in either frankish or occitan cultures, in the same way english culture spreads :).

Waiting... eagerly...

I like my title. "The Restorer" is a pretty great one.

Titles? When did we get titles?

When he listed the people that voted he gave everyone a nickname lol: see -

The Vote Results
(with special titles to voters)
(If something only got 1 vote, it won't appear in the final tally.
