Yes, it would be handy.

BTW here are the conditions required for making them a vassal:
1) Target title must be of a lower rank than yours
2) Either one of these:
a) The target title must be within in your de jure realm.
b) The title claimant must be a landed vassal of yours.
c) The title claimant must be of your dynasty.


* I belive these are the basic rules, although there might be some exceptions.
