Who takes 2 months of vacation though
? All the other paradox teams only take 1 month
If they get 2 months of vacation, that's what they get; however, I doubt it is actually 2 months. It has only been said, I believe, that dev diaries will return in September. No indication they are on vacation until that time, from what I know.

I understand holidays, I was also taking holidays when there appeared a problem to fix. I even understand that in some countries there is month of holidays. But game-breaking bugs are not with us for a month or two. I am tired of constant waiting to fix major issues. Before fixing old problems, new mechanics are added that are breaking the game further. From constant debt making allies worthless, to releasing stupid vassals, navy being useless, countries not creating reasonable size army, but only a half. Spamming useless buildings like naval defence everywhere.

That's just how it goes. Year in, year out. Nothing changes.

I would expect the next update to be in the fall or winter.

I would expect any new DLC or content to be spring of next year.
Don't forget they have all of December off also for Christmas and New Years break. It is amazing they get anything done.

In the States, I think the only people that get close to that are government and banks employees. I think they even get national pancake day also. ;)

It's been confirmed they are taking a break from updates. No official confirmation on when paradox employees take their vacation days.

Though I am 100% confident that the whole office does not quit running for this long.

They don't, Tinto has been hard at work in the background working on bug fixes as I've been forwarding them the issues from the Bug Reports forum.

As for when the next update will be released, afraid I don't have anything for you yet. Bjorn is the Community Manager, and he's unfortunately been away this week but I hope to have some more information about what is happening soon.

Japan is broken too, you won't get anything but Kyoto if your peace deal includes Kyoto
I didn't have this problem in my last playthrough on the new patch (not to say its not happening to other people), but Japan did seem a little off in other ways.

Is it normal for all the existing Daimyo's governing capacity to drop to zero when a war for the Shogunate is declared or when the Shogun declares a war to force annex a Daimyo?

I dealt with this drop in governing capacity twice as Uesugi, first when I seized the Shogunate for myself and later when I was mopping up the remaining Daimyo's to form Japan. It was just a nuisance when I seized the Shogunate, but it was more of a problem when I was trying to form Japan. There were only two or three opposing Daimyo left, with Hosokawa being the largest. But, as soon as I declared the annexation war, Hosokawa released all of the Daimyo it had conquered as vassals. Is this normal? It feels related to the problem with AI releasing cores as vassals when it is over its governing capacity.

Daimyos that become independent get a government reform that gives -150 governing capacity

It can be related it's weird behaviour to release all vassal during war.
