When is a child's ethnicty determined?

Playing the GoT mod as the Targs and I was forced to marry my heir to a Tully as I had no available Targ women. The child born sadly lacks the Targ looks, if I go back to the autosave where my son's wife is still pregnant will the chances change of the child having Valyrian looks or is that determined at conception?

The only thing determined at conception is if the pregnancy results in twins. Ethnicity, traits and sex are all determined at birth. If you reload you'll eventually get your desired ethnicity, that is of course assuming she's not cheating on you with her own cultural graphics in which case you'll know after a few restarts.

You can easily find the character in your save file and edit the graphical culture there.

Some legitimate Targs didn't have the Valyrian looks yes such as Prince Baelor 'Breakspear' and Prince Duncan yes, but neither of them reigned. All reigning Targ Kings had Valyrian features.

You can easily find the character in your save file and edit the graphical culture there.

No need to even do that - just enter charinfo to find the character id, then enter gfx_culture [character id] [culture] (for example, if I want Bob, who has a character id of 505050, to become ethnically Turkish, I'd enter gfx_culture 505050 turkish) into the console to change the character's graphical culture.
