When did you get EU2?

my birthday of this year or was it last year? I think last year. I hated this game for a very long time. Now I cant get enough.

I'd bought Civ3 and hated it. Then some people dropped into the Civ forums and said that EU2 was far superior to Civ. Noticing it on a shelf in a shop a few months later I decided to pick it up and see - they were right.

Reminds me of all the "CIV 3 vs EU2?" threads we had on release. Even had some people from Apolyton reg here just to defend their game and stuff like that. Good times.

It must have been 2001... I didn't even know it existed, it was my grandmom who are a teacher who gave it to me 'cause I was interested in history...

Did she play it? Would be kinda cool, grandmas passing the game to their grandkids.

I got the game in 2003, up to then, I almost only played CivII, but as I was reading praise about it on Apolyton for quite a while, I decided to take a look at it.

I had just gotten Europa Universalis and played it through about two months when EU2 came out. VERY little use for the original game since. hehehe

Can't believe it's been four years now. Wow.


Of all the games I've had, only Civ 2 and Alpha Centauri have come close to holding my interest that long.

I had EU1 and liked it so much that I preordered it from the local EB Games. So, I guess I got it the first day that it was available in my area.

When I saw people playing EUII in my class a few months ago I said "what a stupid game " unfortunately that s true but later I realized that it was the most beautiful game I have ever had
However a lil bit more realistic about rebellition and stability (especialy for OE )
