When can the AI not call in their allies anymore when their ally is helping me in another war?

I just saw @lambda x.x do his True Heir of Timur speedrun using Afghanistan. In the run he attacked Multan. Multan was allied to Jaunpur, his own ally. Jaunpur was already called into Lambda's war against Delhi so Multan could not call them in. At some point Lambda peaced out Delhi and despite this Multan was not able to call in Jaunpur. What are the conditions for this? I could not find anything in the wiki.

I am not sure where the information can be found specifically, but I believe after 24 months there is a hard lock from calling allies in (for both the player and the AI). It could also be 12 months but it has been a little while since I tested it out.

It's a common tactic to avoid losing a common ally in a war against your enemy. While the common ally is in a war with you they can't join as a defender against you, and once you have 25% WS against your enemy, even if you peace out from the initial war you dragged the common ally into, your enemy won't be able to call him to arms. Watch out for the WS though, because if you drop below 25%, your enemy can and usually will issue the CtA to the common ally.

There is no time limit(for defensive calls to arms) and the warscore limit scales with the length of the war. On the first day of the war you would need 100% to prevent a defender from calling in their allies and this drops by 1% each day till a minimum of 25%.

Thanks, that's very helpful. I never knew there was the 25% limit.
