It was a bit excessive in the third game.

WoT a wee bit of CoH2 and Heroes & Generals.
^ H&G might be interesting to someone (free to play) basically it's what the title says. You have Generals that move resources on the map and then the battles are fought by players.
So for example if some guy from Germany sends to xxxxx city 500infantry, 40 light tanks and 30 recon while on other side some Soviet guy sends to same city 698 infantry 66 recon and 12 planes, then those are the "tickets" or number of respawns people fighting in that city will have.
Pretty cool, great and unique game

I'm not a twitch shooter gamer; but Heroes and General is a lot of fun. It works for me because some minor tactics can work to over come twitch shooter wiz's. Also like how the battles take place in a wider war.

Other games:
1. Gravitem Mius Front is fun.
2. Black Ice. (Oh why or why have I only recently tried this . really should have been playing this much sooner)

3. Yep, I will likely cave in an get TW Warhammer.
4. Would have bought Stellaris, but buy about the 3rd Stream I thought there looked like not much going on in the depth, living universe, and war departments.

I thought Stellaris would tide me over but its just not as fun as I thought it would be, after a few patches and some expansions I'm sure it'll shine but HoI will be out by then so.....

Been playing the new Doom, its really quite good. Gun play is fun and old school and the weapon mods are simple and well thought out and the levels are expansive and well designed!

Some Rimworld, great game and keeps me coming back.

Might fire up an EU4 campaign but I'm a little burnt out on that ATM even though my last Brunei game was fun.

Also have the Witcher 3 to get back into.

Basically just going to switch between whatever gets me though while I think about how I'm going to shape Italy in my first HoI4 game!

I remember lending Shogun 1 back in the day from a local video store and playing it with my cousin. We both also played Warhammer back then and thought "damn, if only someone would make this game with a Warhammer license..."

I'm playing Stellaris a lot now. I may go back to Total war Rome 2, or Attila or Shogon 2 with the Darth Mod for a while to let Stellaris mature (patches & DLC's)

I play Total war games or Paradox games because I like history [ Stalaris is future history ].
I also liked Mass Effect 1,2 & 3 and played ME 2 to death.

I don't want to buy Warhammer at all....I do not want to support the the Warhamer trend at TW I maybe once it goes on sale just to check it out.

I am disappointed in HOI IV .... (no OOB & limited # of Generals) .... I may also wait. Really sad because I played HOI3 for hundreds of hours ,,,it was my main gain for a long time....

Both Ca and now Paradox are going for the "casual gamer" and ignoring the old loyal base.

When you use "casual" to describe HO4 the word has lost all meaning.

CoH1, Close Combat III, The Operational Art of War, Tie Fighter, Star Wars Rebellion, Fallout 4, World of Warships (very little now), Plague Inc. (to paint the world red), GTA V, and of course a few hundred more hours of that delicious micro-counter heavy wonder that is HoI3!

Warhammer after it comes out, until I get frustrated by regional occupation and quit...just in time for HoI4!

Stellaris, but not singleplayer. Have 4 diffrent multiplayer games going right now, which is annoying but apparently some people have things to do rather than play stellaris every night. No on the singleplayer thou, AI empires have no life to them and the diplo options are so few.

After that Fallout 4's expansion should get me over the hump.

Even when Hearts of Iron 4 comes out, I will continue to play Darkest Hour.

HOI4 strays too far from historical accuracy to be enjoyable imho, because it ruins immersion.

Good gameplay shouldn't come at the sacrifice of accuracy, Johan. Good historical accuracy inherently brings good gameplay.

Lately I've been dabbling with my modded version of HOI3, but haven't really got into it with HOI4 just around the corner. I spent yesterday playing Civ V after I noticed that Civ VI is set for release in October. The removal of stacking from Civ V and archers shooting 500 kms stopped me playing it about 3 years ago, but I'm hearing that Civ VI will bring back limited stacking so I might give it a go. I'm hoping that HOI4 isn't the game that drives to me either delve full core into modding HOI3 so that I can play with a proper chain of command, or to finally buy Grigsby's WITE/WITW games. I'm still tossing up whether to get the Colonel or FM pre-order for HOI4 as I'm not confident that I'll still be playing it by the time expansions come out.

Everyone has the right to play and enjoy whatever they want. For me, darkest hour is just the best because I play these games for the immersion and accuracy.
