Whats your plans for Mandate of Heaven

In my first game I am going for a Timurid -> Mughals -> force convert to Vajrayana -> Mandate of Heaven -> takeing all East of the Samarkand Trade Node -> maybe all of Eurasia run.
Nothing megalomanical.

Whats your plans? (maybe i try something out in my secound run)

A Japan game to conquer China I think, I've never actually played them, and I'll see which daimyo looks most interesting when we see more details. I was gonna try the Christian daimyo thing too but I think since that'll preclude me from getting the mandate I'll just stay shinto.

I'll be hitting the 'random nation' button until I get a tag that's tied to an achievement I still lack - all the while praying RNG won't land me on the likes of Ryukyu, Nagaur or Odoyev. Mind, I'm sure Paradox will include even more hellish possibilities in their new achievement additions. I really dislike their newfound appreciation for 'timed' achievements - in many cases I find the Jan 1st 1821 timeline quite sufficient.

With luck, I'll have finished my ongoing Aragon game by April 6th.

My plan is to do nothing and turn off the auto update and remain in 1.19. I have zero interest in playing in the far east currently. I understand a ton of peeps have been lobbying for this DLC for a long time. I will get there eventually but lack of free time to play means I have yet to exhaust my interest in Europe thus far. It sounds like this expansion will not effect euro-centric games.

My excitement level for the ages mechanic is about like watching paint dry. White base paint at that. Not everything is for ever body. I see nothing that interests me in this up coming addition.

My lack of free time to play. Ill still be on my current Byzantium game by next month. If the new patch was exciting, I'd ditch it but I'd rather not mess it up.
I may consider it if and only if they rebalance the ridiculously out of whack institution spread. Like all eu4 updates/patches, there are things you like and things you don't. If the bad stuff out weighs the good, don't update or roll back. I see nothing good coming, that's all.

I tend to steer clear of the biggest changes until I finally take the plunge into the content. Not that I don't want the DLC but rather because I am waiting to see how the changes feel. Also it helps when I know what bugs are out and about just after release. I love Paradox but I have learned to be careful about bugs at launch.

I'll probably start off with a fairly simple European nation to gently familiarise myself with some of the new mechanics. Maybe Hungary, Lithuania, Burgundy. Someone like that. After that I'll probably move over to East Asia to play with the Emperor of China mechanics. Who I pick for that run will probably depend on what interesting achievements they add. Beyond that, I do want to do a double emperor run at some point. Great Horde -> Golden Horde -> Emperor of China -> Holy Roman Emperor sounds fun. Possibly even switch to the Roman Empire at the end for maximum "I am the true heir of every great conqueror and empire ever". I also expect that this will be the patch when I finally get around to trying The Three Mountains. Provided that tributaries don't count as independent, which I don't think they do, it seems like it should be a pretty easy achievement to grab in MoH. Finally, completely unrelated to the expansion, I think I'm going to have another go at a Sikh One Faith. I tried doing that a couple of months ago, but didn't manage it, but I know a couple of fairly major mistakes that I made, and I think I'd have a better shot at it if I tried again.

As my last campaign was already a tall Japan, I'm thinking of just staying out of Asia and just do a Dithmarshen/Peasant Germany. Check out ages, edicts and prosperity. Not only trying to play tall but also to unblob Europe as much as possible while at it.

Also, I think I'll jump straight into Extended Timeline, so I can go from proto-communism to full-blown communism. Maybe it takes a day or two to update this time, so I can play some Utopia before as well.
