What's your favourite unconventional country to play and why?

I started a game a few days back, but was a bit turned off by not having any missions at all. Is this normal or was it just bugged out somehow?

I think if you play a very small nation you don't get any missions, even the normal missions. You do get the tribal reform mission tree, but I think that's about it. It's a weird experience and I don't think it's really how you're meant to play, I just found it fun.

I'm pretty sure that's bugged. That can be remedied using console commands. mission.randomizepotential is a very useful console command.

I didnt even get tribal reform missions. the mission tree was completly empty from the start and I didnt get any missions, at least during the first couple years I played. I didnt had the issue with other tribes I played, as there were always some generic "conquer xy" missions at least

I enjoy Bactria a lot, doing my own thing far away from everyone else (Apart from Mauryas and Seleukids, that is).
Also Kush for similar reasons.
And Armenia, sitting in my mountains building forts everywhere.

They all could use some more flavour, especially Bactria and Armenia.

I basically do the same as Armenia and Getia/Dacia. I like Kush but until tribals are added to the west and Blemmya has a land connect to Kush, game play is just push north.
