My biggest fanboy move? I wrote a book about HOI3. It didn't strain my marriage, but it did lead to funny conversations.

"We have to visit my family this weekend."

"Can't. I'm working on the book."

"But you've done nothing all week but go to work and come home to play Hearts of Iron. You won't even play CK2 with me."

"Exactly. I gotta get it done."

"Is this why both desktops are tied up in a multiplayer game you are playing by yourself?"

"Yep. I'm trying to grab some screenshots of a properly created encirclement and some combat tactics."

"So what happens if I need the desktop?"

"I cry and pout and complain you won't let me work."

"I'll use the iPad then."

I don't really get why the wives (of yous lots!) seem to be so overbearing...

Mine's more than happy to leave me to game as long as I wish, never has gaming ever been a strain on the relationship because of her or otherwise. She just scuttles off to watch TV and keeps herself occupied. >_>

I mean, it would suck if I ever got into a relationship and all she ever did was go "Oh, you're on the computer again, moan, moan, moan." Eh, screw that. Ditto if we have to 'compromise' as in she gets what she wants all the time. That ain't healthy. >_>

A woman that is not nagging you for "neglegting" her during your video play time? That's a rare breed. Like a unicorn.

i am proud of the fact, that i recruited 5-6 of my friends (they havent played any PDS game before) to play Hoi 4 with me.

Me too! I even got one of my teachers interested in the game!
