Things like that can still unfortunately still happen, but we have an event that kills all non-catholic males from knight orders ruled by catholic GM, so things like that should nowadays be hopefully rare.

I figured there might be an event, but you never can be too careful.

A turkish 'count' (bey) is vassal of a christian count.
I have seen it a lot of times to. When it is a bug I don't have a problem with it. In real life it should be possible so why not in the game.

Actually I was more surprised with the "of Byzantion" surname. Though I suppose with the new Byz/Seljuk set up it might not be that surprising anymore.

Counts (or beys / chiefs / sheiks) being vassals of other counts (or beys / chiefs / sheiks) is most certainly a bug, which Johan most likely will look upon and see if it can be fixed, when he has the time. Be patient, padawan.
Because we can't check whether or not certain place is a bishopric or not, making similiar event to kill all non-catholics (or non-orthodoxes) in bishoprics is not possible atm. Will think about event to kill wrong religion people in AI elective realms though.

Probably more practical to simply have some tweaks made to the code. The odd thing is that I had thought that this had already been coded so apparently there is either a bug in the code or there is some loophole that is allowing this to happen that doesn't violate the code's condition checks.

Making Elective inheritable only by same religion, or at least giving a HUGE penalty for different religion prospective heirs, would correct all those situations...

In my georgia game my orthodox mashall abdul (arab) the kicked ass of the bey of aleppo, some moslem greek dude called Capet. And yes, his uncle was the french king. how he became vassal of the seljuks is a bit unexplainable since their hasn't been any crusades in jerusalem yet. But on the other hand. The fatamids are being torned apart by the joint forces of bohemia and nubia. Unfortunatly I'm being torned to shreds by the seljuks.
