I'm playing as Khazaria and Seljuk finally comes. The region they usually spawn in is under my tributary so I think it's good that I can strike them while their event troops is only sized after my tributary so I can crush them swiftly. At least, that's what I thought.

They spawn and they have a modest 20k event troops on their side. So far so good. But then they invade and they suddenly have ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSANDS event troops out of nowhere. What's worse is everytime they finish those event troops just vanish our into thin air and everytime they invade their event troops suddenly appear again.

So they're even worse then Mongol and Aztecs because at least they have event troops only at the start and then we can reduce them in battle after battle after battle. But this is more like they are China expansionism on steroids. I checked the official wiki and says their troops should not even go past 60k and it only spawn twice on Seljuk's lifetime and then one other on his descendant.

Is it vanilla bug or HIP bug? In my game Seljuk lives for a glorious 30 years and it is more than enough for him to create Empire of Eran after winning four consecutive wars against me. Losing war is usually not that bad but not when it's this hopeless.

What is your historical promotion setting? When put on aggressive the event-spawned adventurers receive quite the boost to their levies.
No, this is incorrect. There is absolutely no difference in that regard (seeing as I'm the only one that's ever tied anything to the Historical Outcome Promotion rule, you can believe me).

RE: 150K troops

WTF?! This is insane. Nowhere in our code should this be happening by design, even in the sense that there are zero things which reinforce them like that and would be able to go off the rails somehow. I rewrote their entire invasion all fancy-like much earlier this year, so again, I'd know. TBH, I gotta say: screens or it didn't happen (plus, this really does zero to help me and I can't even look into it without your version.txt file that we so irritatingly demand because we must all the time -- but also I need things like whether you were playing from 867 or 1018 or what).

Also, if you are indeed mixing other mods w/ HIP, you could very likely be getting effectively multiple styles of invasion & reinforcement incoherently at once.

Guess I was just misinformed, my bad. What does the historical setting affect then?
