I so love this screenie. I just have one question: Why is there a harbor province in the middle of France  And why am I the first to notice

It looks more like and airfield than a harbour. I noticed it as well. An Eastern Front is what all us German and Russian players want. Hopefully we'll get it.

Hmmm, the question is, if there're some "benefits" for this ship if it's very successful or not.
If no benefits, it doesn't matter for the game.
Direct benefits or not, it is something that really increases the immersiveness of the game. It certainly gives me a reason to keep my more impressive capital ships afloat.

That's right, but it would be cool if the ship gets some organisation for every ship sunk (more experienced) and
also for divisions, so you could build your elite ships/planes/divisions of your own.

Oh, totally agreed there. The more impressive the ship sunk(when compared to the ship that sunk it), the more experience that ship should get. I like that idea a lot.

Cool :)

And for TC, I hope that different rail width in SU has an effect on German supply as long as those rails are not converted to European width. (I remember Germans had special railroad groups just for that)

The "ships sunk by this unit" statistic is excellent news!

Please have this for submarines as well. :D

But the Paris province seem to be a bit large for a city province.

AND can we *please* have Plymouth port to the south side...I do not want to edit the game and move it by myself again. Plymouth is a major naval base and it *should* be placed in the right location.

Argh, I'm probably way too late for Johan to still read this, but maybe I'm lucky and one of the beta testers will notice this post.

I see that the kill list needlessly still displays unit strength and organization (even though those two values must, by definition, both be at 0 for a unit to enter the list, right?), but not unit nationality. I propose that the strength and org bars are replaced by the respective country's flag.

Well, that defination has never really been true. Even during WWI (not, that there were any heavy cruisers during WWI between which and BBs the BC could be) the battlecruiser Tiger was the largest ship in the royal navy.

During the interwar years we saw ships like Hood or Amagi class emerging that were just as heavily armoured as their contemporaries and had the same amount of firepower (Amagi would have actually had 10 16" rifles, one barrel heavier than the US fast battleships and two barrles heavier than the Nagato BB class).

1 - Paris was like that in HOI 1 too... It wasn't that significant in WWII (when checking the battles fought there) when compared to cities like Berlin, Stalingrad, Moscow, Warsaw or Budapest.

2 - As said before, ports are not set yet.

Yes, If you go 100% historical
But shouldn't this game give the possibility to play also ahistorical ???
Maybe in one game the battle of Paris in the west could be as important as Stalingrad in the east ???

Hopefully they will simply have different types of battlecruisers therefore all types of BC's can be represented

Another question would rise from that implementation though. Ie. what exactly is a battleship? Pretty much every single BB with a speed of 28+ knots could be designated a BC with a reltively straight face.

Personally, I hope they pick the first defination (which, being the most "popular" defination, they are most likely to pick anyways). Few people will be complain if Kongo is designated BC instead of BB and Alaska is designated BC instead of CB.

I think the differences between BC and BB from there origin are:
BC: Faster and lighter protection, action in overseas not in big task forces

Ok, there're also exceptions like "fast battleship"
Is it a faster battleship or a better protected battlecruiser ?
There were a lot of mixtuers of typs.
F.e Flotilla Leader: A bigger destroyer or a very light cruiser ?

And so on

Actually - TWO ships; the Scharnhorst and Gneisenau made the famous "Channel Dash" to get back to Kiel from St. Nazaire. The Brits DID notice, but they were out of position - completely surprised by the audacity of it. They launched some Swordfish attacks that were suicidal, and the Nazis got a propaganda coup. They didn't try it again, though.

3 they where... Prinz Eugen as well...

It's doubtfull that the french had accepted to turn Paris into a gutter ruin. Large cities where usually declared "open" (Paris, Rome...). There where no urban fights in the west.

I'm very anxious to see patch 1.03 of HoI2 (I'm not going to buy the game until a few patches are released, of course).
