We got BC, CA, CL in Hoi2. just that the scenario-scripters have not been through and tweaked all models/classes yet.
You wouldn't mind telling us what exactly battlecruiser represents in HoI 2, would you?
Are you going with the traditional WWI era defination, ie. lightly armoured battleship? Like the Kongo, Renown and Alaska classes during WW2 (of which only Renown was a BC). The never compleated American Lexington class BCs would have also belonged here.
And what about the newer defination, the lightly armed battleship? Like the Dunkerque or Gneisenau classes during WW2 (again, only Dunkerque was actually a BC). The planned Soviet Kronshtadt class BCs would have also belonged here.
Or maybe you are going with the fast battleships defination? Ie. the ship was fast by simply being big. The BC Hood and the BB classes of Iowa, Littorio and even Bismarck would fall under this. The never compleated Japanese Amagi class BCs would have also belonged here.
As it was no longer compleately clear what could be called a battlecruiser, I'm just curious which defination you are going to choose (betting my money on the first one).
Also, how exactly are the CA and the CL going to differ? Are CLs better against lighter targets and in places where battles happen over shorter distances (during night or in cramped waters like the Solomons, a theathre which the USN left near compleately to CLs in '43 because of this)? And are CAs in turn better against heavier targets and in more open waters (or during good wheather)?
