On Lithuania in "In Nomine": I'm yet to find out, did Paradox actually had not enough facts, or they were having fun and ridiculed my country as much as they could. When I loaded the game, it was hard to find a thing that was not made wrong. To give an example of to what extent this was was made- lets take one province and have a look- Samogitia:
1) Wrong culture
2) Wrong religion
3) No revolt risk in 1399, even if TO acquired it from Lithuania in 1398. Historically it revolted to Lithuania, afaik, 3 times in these 10 years.
4) Province doesn't reach the sea
5) In Lithuanian mission, task is "conquer Samogitia"- which is Lithuanian and dear land, and lost 1 year before 1399 game start. However, for Smolensk, which is unaccepted Russian culture, it is "reclaim Smolensk".

And this is just one province, and this kind of nonsense is everywhere. Wrong ruler, wrong ruler name, wrong sliders, wrong diplomatic history, ahistorical missions etc. etc. I checked the files- Vytautas the Great has military rating of 3. Now what I have to check, is if Napoleon has good military rating, or does he also has 3.
I was so angry I was actuality thinking of throwing the game away. Still, the reasonable thing is to post to bug report forum, and see what happens.

Also, I'm having some glitches with mouse pointer basically dissapearing, and had computer totally freeze 2 times in ~5 hours of playtime. No other game, including EU3 or EU3:NA ever gave me any freeze-ups, so if this continues I'll get to report this too.

Vytautas the Great couldn't conquer his own pants historically!

Guess that was a reply to Neblogai's post. :)

Nah, it was to Steezus above me. It sounds like he is going to report Paradox to some higher power for their misdeeds. Although Neblogai kinda sounds like that too.

Well, either that or they meant they'd report [it to] paradox.

Well, I'm not here to argue with, or educate some people who are proud of their lack of history knowledge.
I just answered the question in the thread title, and wrote my opinion on how "In Nomine" feels. Yes, start for Lithuania in 1399 is ahistorical. And that is not the only problem with the game that is to be historical or historicaly plausible. I'm sure you will agree, that most countries have become unstable, map changes too fast, new countries rise and then again fall to give way to even more new countries. However,
gameplay mechanics are good, there are many advancements that make game fun, AI- smarter, fighting wars- harder and more exciting- basically gameplay is better than NA in every way.
So, my opinion- real fun to play, but lost it's historical feel due to countries being too unstable, and changing all the time. Maybe it is because of smarter AI, who is able to conquer lands better, but is unable to cope with rebels in it's own yard.

Sure they feel a bit unstable, but im more botherd with the ai beeing able to siege a province within a couple of days when it'll take at least a month for me
And i really can't see what the problem with Lithuania in the 1399 scenario.
They're a great power and so they were!
And Samogitia didn't reach to the sea before in nomine either. Of course it can't reach to the sea when Teutonic order/Kurland is in its way ;)

I think most of us who have special affection for a nation or province outside the major European powers could find some things to complain about. If you have a couple of hours sometime, I'll fill you in on some Texas history.

The changes to the missionary and colonial systems are brilliant...

The rebellion system is great...

I think it's safe to say he likes it :D

Let's just say that I like most of it. It's a much bigger change to the game than NA was, and I had a lot of false starts once I realized just how dangerous rebels could be.

But this is a great add-on; I always like EU3. But now I think I'm in love. Something I haven't said about a Paradox game since Deus Veult.
