Patch 1.04.

Genoa control areas on the black sea at the start of 1419? Is that historically accurate? I do not remember any such control from my history studies. I'll have to look this up.

By items in the balkans I mean England SOMEHOW how gotten control of Ragusa, Austria controlled Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Venice controlled Albania, and Ottomon the rest south of the river. Still, no border between England and Ottoman. But war was declared. And eventually settled after several years for 25 ducats. Oh .. and how did England try to attack? England already had military access through Bradenberg (me). So it landed forces (and kept doing so) and started moving SE from Oldenburg. Asked for and got access through Bohemia. Keep moving. Asked for and got access through Hungary. Keep moving. Finally attacks Bulgaria. Interesting.

England in Ragusa is sort of like seeing Aragon in Friesen or Burgandy in Kexholm. Now, if someone would just report Maya on Inca in Europe somewhere

They controlled some areas in the Black sea until the Ottomans closed Bosphoros and cut them off.

I feel like bringing this thread back from the dead, with patch 1.06 out now. Anyway.

One time, in 1.05 I saw Genoa create a large colonial empire, in the same game, Sweden took most of New England, and annexed the Iroquois.

I saw the Ottomans invade Brittany once.

I've seen every province of Ireland held by a different power, including the Ottoman Empire, and Algeris.

I've seen Algeris kick the crap out of Portugal, take all their colonies (azores, cape verde, most of brazil and part of africa) and take 1/3 of Portugal.

Now that's CRAZY!

I'd have to say that the time when Zimbabwe protected the independence of Mecklenburg was really funny... :D

In my current game as Brandenburg, the Maya kicked some Spanish butt and got colonies all the way from Maya proper down to real-life Colombia in return for peace... Quite a stalwart defence of the "New World", in my opinion. :D

My current game is EEP Russia, and watching Western Europe has been interesting. For several decades, Granada controlled Zeeland. Helvitia had expanded to include Nivernais, Franche-Comte, and Wurtemberg, while Brittany owned a strip right across northern France.

Things seem to be working out (early 1500s), though. Friesland has taken Zeeland, and France has been reclaiming most of its cores.

I as Aragon, had been feeding my vassal Castille with extra cash so they'd declare war on Granada, one province. Eventually they did, only to find that the pope was Guaranteeing the independence of Granada! The papal states then declasred war on Castille and Aragon for attacking Granada- needless to say he lost most of his territory shortly afterwards.

Who'd have thought the pope disapproved of Castille's attack on Granada...

I'm playing Burgundy now but can't annex France - only Ile-de-France. The rest of France is mine or vassalized, the year is 146smth, but when I occupy Ile-de-France I get 17% and that's it. There can't be any provinces of original France left... weird.

But the weirdest thing I have seen was the Pommeranian Empire - almost all protestant Germany plus half of Poland and parts of Bohemia. Together with Papal States (me) we divided Austria and for a half of century the north of Europe was ruled by glorious Pommern. Yes, the Prussia and Brandenburg were also present, but very small.

Gascogne. It belonged to France, then Aragon and then Ottomans took it. They had for some time and then the swedes decalred war on Ottomans. Gascogne went to Sweden. Til finally I managed to persuade Navarra to conquer it and arranged through peace deal it to Navarra.

I've got a TON of these.

Portugal forcing Norway to change religion in a war.

In multiple games, Poland or Lithuania owning Qatar.

In a game as Fez, I trade maps with the Incan Empire (after conquering Chimu). Within a year, they are at war with Poland. After a few years they make peace. I declare war on the Incas and force convert them to Islam. Then, later I check and they are again at war with Poland. I *think* Poland was the aggressor both times, but no provinces changed hands, and so far as I know there were no battles.

Scotland annexing Andalusia, and only Andalusia, from Spain, in the same game - it had already developed the CoT and shipyard. Of course, I seized it from them.

In a game as Novgorod, I annex Eire, convert them to Orthodoxy, then release them as a vassal. In a later war, I notice that my loyal vassal is sending 1.5k troops across the Russian mainland. I follow him, and find out that his destination is Kazakhstan, where he is helping me quell rebels.

In a game as Japan, I discover California, only to find that Baja has been settled by - this floored me - Tunisia.

In my most recent game as Bohemia, the Puritans revolt and get about half of England through staggered revolts. I ally the Puritans, hoping to attack England for free. But the two never declare war after the initial white peace, and instead live tangled up with each other - England owns Wales and the Scottish borderland area, and the area around London, while the Puritans own the center area. The Puritans have one colony (at least, only one I can see) - in Southwestern Michigan.

In one game I saw England cede two provinces to Wales in a war.

I've also seen Albania eight provinces large, including the Thrace CoT. I've also seen Albania owned by Lithuania, Norway, and Bohemia at various points.

Oh, and Tripoli revolting from Austria with Austrian tech, and then conquering Northern Africa handily.

"Consider if you will..." using the May 4th 1.07 beta, "the year is 1515, as Poland, allied with Bohemia and the Teutonic Order, we have completely ignored Lithuania, since they have chosen to ignore us. Imagine if you will that one by one, not only are our potential targets gobbled up one by one, but by 1515, our allies are both gone. But why!? Well may we ask. Somewhere in some forgotten closet of someone's worst nightmare hath come the "Vassalisk". A fearsome creature, it has taken over the body of Lithuania and with merely a look, vassalized the TO and Bohemia leaving us friendless, but imagine a massive Genoa, mighty and proud with colonies in the black sea and elsewhere in the Meditterraean, fallen too the Vassalisk, another vassal of Lithuania. And lo! Hungary is a vassal. Siebenburgen, Moldavia and Wallachia are national provinces of the Vassalisk, and the nemesis of Christianity in Europe? No. Can it be?? <sigh> The Vassalisk is all seeing, all powerful, and its glance everywhere! the Ottoman empire, what remains of it, is a vassal of Lithuania. Perhaps when we merge there shall be a menacing Muscovy? But no, Muscovy too is a vassal. What remains to be done? Move the deck chairs about on our dacha's porch and await the union? Perhaps Sweden will acquire Protestantism before being co-opted by the Vassalisk, but we shall lay no odds, and place no bets. DEfinitely the weirdest for me!

My all time favorites:

- Novgorod annexing Granada.

- Aztecs guaranteeing independence of Austria.

- From game log:
Feb 28, 1452: Luxembourgh accepted peace with Burgundy on the following terms: Artois, Flandern, Holland, and Zeeland to Luxembourgh. Burgundy will give up miltary access.
Mar 1, 1452: Luxembourgh went with "Let us be a part of Greater Burgundy" in the Succession in Luxembourgh.
