What's the policy on game music?

In order for me not to cause trouble, I want to ask before doing any work on a project. What I want to do is to put EU: Rome's music into Rome 2's game files. In order to do this, I will need to edit (by edit, I mean cut, paste, copy, to make the music applicable to battles in Total War) the music files.

1. Can I even do this at all for personal use? (no distribution, only for myself, I own the game, etc.)
2. Can I distribute this in the form of not-for-monetary-gain mods?

What you do with the game files on your own computer is your thing. Enjoy.

As with all modding that uses files from our games - for other games - we're not going to stand in your way. Non-commercial use is fine.
