In my current game I would really like to convert some nations to the true - Protestant - faith. As there is basically no major except me as Hamburg Protestant. While Im already heavily converting every possible minor in the HRE, some nations like PLC/Sweden would be really useful for the 30YW. Currently I dont really see how we should be able to win this, if not for some miracle a lot of catholics decide to support the cause.
Since Deus Vult is useless apart from increased Prestige Imo it should be able to enforce religion change on 100 WS. All of the reasons why it got changed in the first place are gone now anyways.

- Cant 100 WS OPMs anymore, due to the 5 years rule.
- Emporer doesnt get IA on memberstates converting back.
- Warleader change doesnt happen anymore.

Thoughts ?

You omitted a really important reason for why the force-conversion cost scales with size:

Force-converting a Catholic AI to Protestant, when most of their provinces are still Catholic, is an easy way to neutralize that AI country for a while due to the religious-conflict events (and, y'know, the whole "their Religious Unity has just been flushed down the toilet" thing).

Anyway, as Freudia says, once the Reformation hits, the Cleansing of Heresy CB is pretty close to the best available CB (at least before the high-ADM-tech CBs) for a European state that wants to carve large chunks out of their European neighbours. (And if you're Orthodox, it's good even before then, because in AI hands most of the Orthodox states that aren't Muscovy tend to get eaten by Catholics or Muslims.)

I would advise you that the 30 Years War or War of the Religious Leagues as they more or less are now seem a little wonky to me still. I mean in the last one I saw Muscovy fighting for the Catholics did battle against the Golden Horde fighting for the Protestants, meanwhile France decided to support Spain and Austria's Catholic league despite being rivaled to both of them, and the Ottomans felt that they should invade Austria and enforce religious peace in the HRE I guess

In my game, Muscovy, Ottoman Empire and Golden Horde joined the Protestant league, while Crimea joined Catholics. Can't say I didn't like it, as I was playing France and wanted to convert to Protestant later, so having surrounded my main rival Austria from both France and Balkans was perfect. I really like this new mechanic and the sometimes unpredictable joining, but often it's based on AI's threat assessment, it seems, as rivals tend to pick different sides (except in your case, it seems, but I'm sure there's a logical explanation).

It's 0 diplo cost for taking any province, so nah. It's still crazy strong. Has an easy wargoal to get too.

That feature is convenient, nothing more. DIP tech can largely be ignored.

You could just change it that every occupied province is converted upon enforcing the demand. That means even with wargoal + battles you would need to occupy 55% which is already half of the target nation.

Again there is no difference apart from the diplopoints/prestige to claim war anymore. You can only deus vult on neighbours and you can only fabricate on neighbours. The big impact it had pre 1.8. was the warleader change allowing you to work around hard alliances.
