Started as the count of Napoli, married the niece of Roger de Hauteville with a claim on Apulia, captured Sicily, murdered Roger de Hauteville before he could form the Kingdom of Sicily, swore allegiance to his weakest son who got the duchy that was not Apulia. Then died and murdered my own mother with a claim on Apulia, using it to claim it and thus become independent. Afterwards I formed Sicily and subsequently invaded my former liege by pushing another de Hauteville claimant to the other duchy.
Subsequently I progressively outbred and murdered most de Hautevilles so that they disappeared from the history of the world.
Following this I married a claimant to the Byzantine Empire then murdered the emperor of the Byzantine Empire, making sure they always had a terrible ruler while the realm got eaten up by Seljuk hordes. Successfully won the crusade once the Seljuks captured Greece and the Pope threw a hissy fit about it.
I never used the claim to the Byzantine Empire and eventually murdered my husband because I wanted a more useful claim.
It's not my current Napoli game, was one I played years ago. Learned about the niece of Duke Roger and such during it and used it in my current CK2 AAR though.
I dont think @hjarg would approve.
