I am a long time vanilla EU2 player, and I cannot seem to find any information at all on the Timur-mod. Is the only difference that it is shifted backwards some years and that you can choose to follow the antipope? Are all the regular events and such of EU2 vanilla included?

For the Glory brags 10.000 events. I assume these events are available only to those who choose AGCEEP. Are there any disadvantages to playing with this mod? I am all for learning, so more historic events are ideal. Is this mod more historic than the vanilla campaign? What about the timur one?

The disadvantage to ACGEEP is... well I'm not a fan of some of the event chains at the moment that force you to choose between death and death if you are a state that historically fell apart/were annexed.

What you consider good or bad is personal and as AGCEEP is converted to FTG and retooled over the next few months I hope that the disadvantages will disappear.

You can go to the mod subforum for it above this thread to find out more or offer assistance.

With regards to Timor I honestly have no ideas on what it has to offer; I have yet to try it. :)

Age of Timur is basically vanilla scenario shifted backwards by 20 years, with some events, monarchs and leaders for the period.

AGCEEP is the most historical of all mods out there, lots of events, historically accurate monarchs and leaders (a lot better than in vanilla in that regard), better country setup...

Remember to check out also the other mods, available from the subforum!

Sounds great, always interesting to replicate Tamerlane's exploits.

That's the challenge. You must defeat Death himself as the glorious Timurids/Ming/Mamluks/Byzantines/Burgundians/Aragonese/Irish/Tinyrussianstateswhosenamesnoonecanpronounce/Albania/etc.

Does Timur's ambition include AGCEEP events?
I'm going to assume no, since there would probably need to be about 50 large events for 1399-1419 alone to make sure it doesn't go off course to such an extent that 90% of AGCEEP events never fire.

Thanks to all for informative answers. I will probably let my first game be with AGCEEP then.
Better start with France in vanilla 1492 scenario in order to learn the basics. Not difficult but you could have surprises in AGCEEP if you make mistakes.

And you have all other already available mods.

AGCEEP is amazingfun if you play as a nation that survives.

The campaign as England is BY FAR the most fun of anything. At least for me.

England is fairly forgiving as well to play as for a newb.

England is great fun. Only problem being that when you win the war against France, Orleans annex them, becomes France and nothing happens. At least that's what happened in my game.
