What's the best way to play DH?

So, I was thinking about getting DH, but what is better?
DH with Iron Cross OR
DH with Armageddon?
I think those are the main choices. I don't really want to waste the effort of the DH crew who made a new map, but if DH+IC is better gameplay wise then I might consider it. I read IC was very buggy at the start but there are now patches out. So I ask you, players who have more than just demo experience, what should I get, what is the ultimate HOI2 experience?

Darkest Hour is a stand alone game and it does not require Armageddon or any other of the HoI2 clones.

I havent tried IC over Darkest Hour but its probably better to give the IC crew some time to work out the kinks. Darkest Hour alone is good enough.

ive tried IC over DH and its ok but it doesnt really matter what u put Ic over. it still uses ic map, events, tech tree, skins etc. arma version of IC is a little more balanced and AOD IC has a few more features but it really doesnt matter. the game runs fine just make sure you get the IC 1.01 r5 patch because it fixes a couple of compatiblity issues with DH 1.00 other than that its fine
