What's the best computer to run Hoi4 on?

From the perspective of performance, smoothness, and surround-sound, what would the ultimate computer for playing Hoi4 look like? You may differentiate between single player and multiplayer computers if you have a good reason.

Ideally you'd need a two CPUs system with a very strong single-core one for AI and combat calculations and a common multicore one for everything else.

HOI4 is not very RAM intensive so 4GB+ is sufficient (depending on mods)
HOI4 is very processor intensive so highest speed possible is best
HOI4 is not very parallizable and thus multi cores beyond 4 don't give noticeable improvements
HOI4 is graphics locked so a better graphics processor is worth it (Stellaris recently moved to DX11 which has better multi-core than DX9, no idea when/if HOI4 will get the upgrade)
HOI4 does regular saving so SSD is worth it.


Outside those rough guidelines I'm not sure what you can say. Machines these days are so varied and opinions on what is 'good' performance is so personal that specifics are hard to say.

Something like an overclocked 10600k for maximum CPU performance, decent graphics card like a 1060 or better, good SSD but maybe even using RAM Disk, if you really wanna have the best.

But most important thing is the to get a very good CPU, everything else is secondary. 6 Cores should be plenty aswell, even with Cores for the game and 2 as a reserve for backroudn stuff.
